I'm not sure how long it's been like it, but I've just noticed BBC Three and BBC Four now have off-air Virgin Media messages up until they start at 7pm. Before I always remember it was just a blank screen with no message.

Re: Virgin Media Changelog

....the BBC stations for England, Wales, Scotland and NI will replace them. These already broadcast on ex ntl between chs 930-936. This is part of the process (which is taking a 100 years to complete...) of aligning the channels between ex-telewest and ex-ntl.

The regional channels may reappear in the future, but as most of them are owned by national companies who are disinterested in local services, don't bet on them coming back. VM are clearly disinterested in local stations too! But if you want music in Welsh or Scots Gaelic, you'll be pleasantly surprised....

Re: Virgin Media Changelog

 Buy a radio and save some bandwidth on the co-ax.

Actually, I'm sorry to see local radio services (or any services) being dropped but VM may see that these are available already via analogue FM or DAB and that the bandwidth can be better utilised for other purposes. The cost of carrying these services may not be seen as justifiable when compared with the perceived value that they provide. They may also be trying to simplify the process of merging the disparate ex-franchise platforms.
