Just thought I'd add that Pace STB owners can call and request/order a Samsung STB (current dates for these to be installed are 4/5th April).

Can I just ask, the upgrades to 1mbit for Pace STB owners, what date has been set for it? (I personally got told 'within the next few evenings' by a CS guy).

Hello guys, upgraded to 3Mbit in Portsmouth area via the website. I was thinking to downgrade to 2Mbit to save some money but after seeing this speed i stoped thinking about it. Believe me it is SO fast! :tu: :tu: :tu:

Does anyone know if they have upgraded the Glasgow/Rutherglen area?

I noticed on the NTL server status site that we are due to recieve a loss or degraded network from 12am to 6am today. I have been online all night and I have had no connection probs or loss of service. Just wondering thats all.:)

Your IP is not that important, it's the MAC address of the SACM or STB that is registered against your account ;)

I had an engineer round last week as we were having signal level problems, I asked him then what the chances of getting a Samsung box would be and he said he'd bring one over as soon as he had one, he bought it over yesterday, nice timing :D

Hi,

Just rang 0800 052 2000 and picked the option for package changes. There is an automated voice advising all SACM users to upgrade online, but nothing about upgrading STB users.

All I wanted was to upgrade to 1.5mbit from 750k so that I could have a Samsung, ready for my auto upgrade.

The nice guy on the phone instructed me there is no 1.5 any more and offered me 1mbit right now for a saving of £6 pcm. Not bad you can ring up and get a better service and get the price reduced!

We then discussed the rather low "soft" cap on the 1mbit and decided the 2mbit would be best suited for my heavy usage... He instantly put me on 1mbit (explaining that my pace stb will only support that) and booked in a pace to Samsung exchange for Tuesday, as it happens I already have Thursday booked off work so he rearranged for then...

So at this second (and tested) I am exactly 1mbit, with a Samsung box coming in 7 days which I was advised would instantly put me up to 2mbit. What quality service!

One difference I noticed on the STB, is if you press "page up" "page down" "blue", on the third screen, my QOS has changed from 'Silver' to 'stb-light'... Maybe something for you people waiting for auto upgrade could check for now and then.

I'm impressed.:nworthy:

BTW, im in the dreaded north Manchester ex-cwc area, right between Bolton and Bury.

i tried upgrading to 3mbit via the website but it just aint happening for me :(

Anyone have an idea why? I tried ringing up ntl and they said they will send a letter out when the new speeds are available seems weird to me when everyone seems to be able to do it.

i live in the Grimsby area btw.

Admin Edit (Paul) : Mac & userame address details removed.

the reason it failed could be because that is your username for a PAYG dial up account and not broadband at a guess... or your cable modem is not on the system properly
