This has nothing to do with Putin.

It is election losers not accepting the democratic result and being championed by their own cause, Donny himself is their champion, the Remain side had their champion(s) and less than a million marched in London more than once.

This is absolutely no different at all.

If you genuinely believe that Russia doesn't try to destabilise it's enemies then you are extremely naive, Mick. No different from how the USA tries to destabilise it's enemies around the world.

Update.
Quote:

The US Capitol building in Washington has been locked down after violent clashes involving pro-Trump supporters and police broke out.

Protesters ripped down metal barricades at the bottom of the Capitol's steps and clashed with officers in riot gear. A message over the PA system said: "Lock all doors if able. If unable, seek shelter or concealment. Remain calm and await further directions. I repeat... security threats security threats security threats inside the US Capitol."
No one is currently allowed to enter or exit the complex due to the 'external security threat'.

Tear gas has been deployed and congressmen and women have been told to put on gas masks they keep under their desks.

It was intended to be an invasion of the Capitol building by some of Trump's supporters - they clearly didn't smash those windows and invade the building by accident!

No invasions of government buildings happened in the few Remain marches which were all reported as orderly. Unlike the sad scenes unveiling before our eyes at Capitol Hill.

Quite easy to get into Parliament. Just need to turn up say you're there to see your MP and walk in. There is usual airport type security but apart from that I was quite surprised how easy it is when I went.

He's creating problems for his followers Ted Cruz etc. When Congress reconvenes do they keep going with their frivolous objections and look like fools or do they back down and look like the spineless snakes they are.

No different to how the Democrat snakes behaved when their beloved Hillary lost.

Only because they are harder to obtain in the UK.

Can't think of many careers ruined by it off hand. Cruz on the other hand is finished with the MAGA crowd if he backs down and finished with any sane person that recognises the election wasn't stolen if he proceeds.

It's no longer a minor procedural objection - it's fanning the flames of insurrection.

Should have heeded the warning. When the looting starts, the shooting starts!

CBS News now reporting she has died. Also Nacy Pelosi has been in touch with the Pentagon, Justice Dept, Mike Pence and other Congress leader to reume again tonight. Thought is objections will be reduced.

Two different stories...

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKEF/WRGT) -- The Acting Secretary of Defense, Christopher C. Miller, released a statement about the situation at the U.S. Capitol.

“Chairman Milley and I just spoke separately with the Vice President and with Speaker Pelosi, Leader McConnell, Senator Schumer and Representative Hoyer about the situation at the U.S. Capitol. We have fully activated the D.C. National Guard to assist federal and local law enforcement as they work to peacefully address the situation. We are prepared to provide additional support as necessary and appropriate as requested by local authorities. Our people are sworn to defend the constitution and our democratic form of government and they will act accordingly.”

The account was locked for 12 hours so he can remove three tweets, if he does not, it will remain locked.

The counting resumed with fewer objections this time. The Deputy National Security Advisor has resigned as well, a few more might come today.

Re: U.S Election 2020

I think Trump has had a psychological breakdown, a meltdown. He believes that much that he won, he is living his own reality - When it is so obvious he has not. His own cabinet is considering the 25th Amendment against him. Can it be possible that in the next phase of Trumps presidency, he leaves office before 20th Jan and the 46th President of the United States, could actually be Mike Pence, for just over a week?

The way forward now is to invite Biden to the White House, shake hands or touch elbows because of Covid, and allow the peaceful transfer of power and bow out. Even if by some miracle he gets to remain president, which it’s impossible, the fact he’s now lost the Senate, he’d never get his policies through. When you got despots in Syria, what is he called, Assad and in Venezuela, Madura clinging on to power, they have not got safety mechanisms, separation of powers, a Constitution that it is explicit.

The Founding Fathers in America made it this way, separate powers, so no one body has sole power.
