I think he might.

I think it's a good addition to the market. A combination of Freeview and NOW TV Entertainment might appeal to those on a tight budget. I still think the SKY Sports day pass needs revised.

The pricing on the sky sports day pass is mental, the entertainment bundle is very competitive though.

Talking of NOW TV it's only £4.99 to the first 60,000 subscribers. I have no idea what anyone after this will be charged. Trying to get further info on this just now.

Hi Chad I just been over and looked and it says Introductory price of £4.99 per month if joining by 31st March 2014. Currently available only on compatible PC & Mac, PS3, NOW TV Box and Roku.

So I dont know if it is limited to the number of subscribers.
I have just sent for my box a bargain at £4.99 a month imho
I will also use it for sky movies as at £8.99 it is a lot cheaper than I can get it on Virgin. Crafty Sky :-)

The entertainment bundle is good value. Even SKY Movies on NOW TV is decent value now it's been repriced.

I was told limited numbers however that could be a mistake.

I've got NOW TV via my LG Smart TV. The new channels haven't been added yet via the app.

I think it's great value. Would like to know if they plan a HD version.

I agree it's good value at £4.99. But for VM users, it is only the Sky Atlantic that is of any value. And until the put all the Atlantic shows on there (or the vast majority), and, more importantly, previous seasons, then it is badly flawed, even at £4.99.

I wonder if Sky may see how many VM users subscribe and then work out if they would get more from that at £4.99 per customer, compared with a reduced flat rate or every VM customer (or XL customer) from wholesaling it to VM.

Or, given improving relations between Sky and VM and Sky's reported desire for VM to take Bravo, they may just do a deal with VM for Atlantic anyway.

There target audience must surely be the people with free to air digital channel services; Freview, Freesat and Youview though.

It's not really a clique it's just there's some posters who you'd trust the rumours from and then some who come on, having never really posted with information and no evidence so you never know if its somewhere being a WUM (wind up merchant)

If den posts something and says the same information i'd take it on board. You just don't know other people. It's not being a clique really. Though i'd very much like to be in a clique with Den we'd be mega cool.

If Sky Atlantic doesn't come to VM, maybe those who really want this channel will use this service as a workaround?

If the missing shows that you mentioned are sorted out, £4.99 a month is not far off the extra quid a week that some people said that they would be prepared to pay if SA appeared as a standalone channel.

I must say that as a virgin subscriber the movies for £8.99 is what really got my attention as I had been thinking of subscribing to the movies on Virgin but was put off by the price.

I do think the sports day pass is extortionate on Now though.
I for one am hoping that SA and History HD do arrive on Virgin soon.

Providing they get all Atlantic shows and previously shown seasons, it is a solution. It's nowhere near a perfect solution though as VM customers would only gain a small percentage of the channels (and therefore value) in the Entertainment pack.

Adding it to VM is the perfect solution.

We already have Sky Arts 2 SD and HD

Looks like the closure of Sky Arts 2 SD is going ahead as soon as Sky are satisfied it won't damage their relationship with their customers.

Never heard of Loungelab though!

Virgin Media carry Sky Arts 2 in both SD and HD (I did mean Close).

Media Boys late night round up.

-Two channels has been remove from 'Total Channels' - I think they are the two ESPN Channels that close in August.

Media Boy reveals that 'Do Not Post' order.

Base on information Media Boy HQ has seen (From an Virgin insider and an Rumour Poster) Netfix is set to launch in all areas by November 6th*.

*NOTE: I do not work for Virgin Media so all the information on this post about Netfix is still subject to change.

Cheers MB, is the insider one of your reliable insiders?

Will be glad to see when it finally arrives, even if it is later than the 6th Nov. I will certainly give it a free trial as I have 10 days off work from the 8th Nov. :)
Glad to see VM have given it a thorough testing period, rather than rush it out with a few bugs.

He did also post the following on the 18th September 2013:

"I can confirm apart from Netflix no channels will be launching this year "

But since then More 4HD, Premier Sports and Tiddlers TV have launched. Either his source is unreliable or it's pure fiction.

£5 per month off for five or more continuous years, £10 for 10 years, £20 for 20 years, .....

Will be glad to see when it finally arrives, even if it is later than the 6th Nov. I will certainly give it a free trial as I have 10 days off work from the 8th Nov. :)
Glad to see VM have given it a thorough testing period, rather than rush it out with a few bugs.

My insiders has been with me for years.

Does anyone know why ESPN HD shows as being on channel 542 on the online TV Guide, yet is actually on channel 530 on the TV?

Not sure why it would move up there!

Perhaps this was the EPG number before BT took over ESPN?? Anybody know?

Who really knows what their boxes get up when you're sleeping ;)

When VM started running the company and did their first major update of the boxes, I went into the living room to find that the box had actually moved forwards! I joked at the time that they had sent my update a little too forcefully :D

ESPN has been on Virgin Channel 529 since launch back in 2009.

DS Forums are staying that an other Bio stream is testing right now - Lifetime to launch on New stream? Or Lifetime HD to launch?

Personally, I wouldn't trust anybody who feels the need to preface their name with the term "DJ".

This started as a fad in the 90's as a way to market famous Disc Jockeys and musicians, but was soon being used by any Tom, Dick or Harry in an attempt to pitifully (in their eyes) improve their status in life (though many are simply unemployed bedroom DJ's).

Not that all bedroom DJ's are bad, in my line of work I've discovered some talent on a few occasions, but most are simply deluded!

Your right, I don't agree with the mocking either.

If the channel goes it will be both HD and SD in my opinion.

Yes, the mocking of others is a particular problem on this forum. It is also very often done by the admin staff which is particularly disappointing. One would have assumed that their priority would be to ensure that the forum runs smoothly and is seen as a warm and friendly place to partake in.

It would be an interesting scenario if both Sky Arts 2 SD and HD closed. Perhaps Sky are now coming round to the VM view that VOD is the way forward as opposed to linear channels??

Perhaps VOD is a chance for under performing channels to be retained (or even move into profit?).

I agree, could one of you please create a thread about this 'phone app in the correct place?

This stops Media Boy's thread from being cluttered up with this subject and would also reach out to more customers to highlight a very useful service to those that may benefit from it.

I like some of the modern dance stuff, but also like many types of other music too. In fact, when people ask me what sort of music I like, I say it would be easier for me to tell them the sort of music that I don't like eg reggae, rap, opera etc.
