Might not seem like a happy thought but...

Just got back from Exmouth after Mum's funeral yesterday.

Humanist ceremony was great and afterwards everyone said it was just how Mum would have wanted it to be.

Very tired but glad that it went well.

Back in hospital with a suspected twisted gut unfortunately. Initially in ICU but now in HDU.

Seems a bit neverending at the moment, especially as one of my daughter's Uni friends who disappeared on Sunday has just been found dead in the River Wharfe at Wetherby :(

All the best matey! It all depends on what sort of thing you're looking for of course but you could always try China Town for something romantically oriental. Loads of other choice around that way too. Hope it all goes well.

Hi all, not posted for a while but figured I'd posted my bad news on here before, loss of job and being diagnosed with scoliosis, so why not my good news.

We found out before Christmas that my girlfriend is expecting. Was happy about that :). And we found out last week, after the first scan, that the baby is gonna be identical twins :D

Not sure what to expect, other than some sleepless nights and hard work, but we're sure it's gonna be great.

Well, after having quite a scare with him over the weekend, our youngest is going into respite tonight and our eldest is staying over at nanna's so we're going to have 2 whole nights on our own. Despite our initial concerns about it, there's no guilt to worry about either now because he loves his time at the respite centre and always gets very excited when we tell him he'll be going there because he's 'been such a good boy...' :)

Without wishing to bring any negative thoughts into a happy place, it does make us realise how important the overstretched respite service is, how lucky we are to get what time we're allocated and how much more difficult life must be for those who have no such help.

They are a pop group managed by louis Walsh called "Wonderland".
They were great with our student audience that was waiting for them and performed 4 songs for them and then answered questions.

Well reading the leaflets you get it's some type of cardinal sin to itch inside your cast.

To be fair it hasn't been that bad, BUT I do have a secret itcher for when I need it ;)

I'm going to regret saying this ;) - but the foot itself doesn't seem to get itchy at all, just the leg. Dunno if that's 'cos of my loss of feeling in my feet though. HHHmmm :)

Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad Dilli, sort of mixed blessing eh?

That it is lol - I guess it's bad in that I broke it sometime in October and didn't realise I'd done it until they x-rayed my foot when they were looking at my toe.

But good in that I'm not really in pain. Although (and luckily Natalie doesn't read this) - I am still really ticklish on my feet.

I'm glad she doesn't know that ;)

Just finished all the preparations for Burns Night Supper - Cock-a-leekie soup, Bridies, Haggis (even a veggie version for a guest), Tatties & Neepes, Cranachan, and there may be a tot or two of usquebaugh, for medicinal purposes only...... (not forgetting the Irn-Bru).

Off for a bath now - I have one every year, whether I need it or not.....:D

A real woman is a mans best friend. She will never stand him up and never let him down. She will reassure him when he feels insecure and comfort him after a bad day. She will inspire him to do things he never thought he could do. She will enable him to express deepest emotions and give in to his most intimate desires. She will make him feel confident and sexy, seductive and invincible. No wait....I'm thinking of lager, it's lager that does that. Sorry.

That whole situation shows how the Premier League (and to some extent, the Football League) has lost touch with reality. I don't have any objections to them spending that much *if* they have enough money, after all, it's their money, who am I to question what they spend it on? Where I think they need to get back in touch with realtiy is that a lot of the clubs (particularly the premier league ones) are apparantly heavily in debt. To the tune of 100s of millions.

Anyhow, back on topic. My happy thought is I popped into an HMV this afternoon. Walked out with the two Christopher Nolan Batman movies on Blu Ray for £20, and Micheal Caine's Billion Dollar Brain (part of the Harry Palmer series) on DVD for £7.

Depends what you want really - but the chances of you getting anything for that date in a really nice place are going to be a bit remote.

I always like the the Ivy - (that list makes it seem like I'm always out at fancy places, but I'm not, I just go out so rarely they all stick in my mind :) )

Just booked this place for our Valentine's Day meal - Portrait Restaurant, National Portrait Gallery.

Thanks to everyone for their help - much appreciated.

Looks like a nice menu and quite reasonable considering the restaurant's location. I hope you both have a beautiful meal.
