I've just heard something that I *really* wish I hadn't been forced to listen to...

Someone's done a "sanitised" cover sersion of Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" and it is *DIRE*! :grind:

It's supposed to be an up-beat party tune, but it sounds more like "music to slit your wrists to", the singer doesn't put *any* passion into it and half the time he's wandering off key :(

Having grown up listening to Noddy Holder and Slade belting this one out, I can only pity the kids who get to hear this one.

Just seen/heard Band Aid20's version of "Do they know..." on VH1

Notice it hasn't been re-released this year. Probably because it's a very weak version of the original classy version which had a very warm feel to it, unlike last year's effort with the Chris Martin-inspired motto of "Who care if you don't like it? Just BUY it" :erm:

Just finished listening to Amy Nuttel (used to play Chloe in Coronation Street) sing "Scarboro Fair". She is a surprisingly good singer. The way she sung it reminded me a lot of Enya.

Not the sort of music that I normally buy (I can't be bothered to turn the TV over, and they just played it), but well sung none-the-less.

Add to that the fact that she is still rather attractive.

Bright Eyes, for most of today really. I don't quite know how the 25 year old manages to captivate this 40 year old with his anti-war, singing, shouting, country antics, but he does. Dylan in the making it is said...

Oh, and for any Americana lovers that catch this, do check out timesbold, one of my favourite bands of the last years.

Above and Beyond - No One on Earth (chillout mix).... very, very, very good version. Just what you need after a night out, and you're looking to calm things down a bit. I also like the Gabriel & Dresden Dub Mix, as well as the original version, for those that know this song :)
