TViso has finally launched in the UK. https://uk.tviso.com/

I now understand a little more about TViso:

http://advanced-television.com/2017/...iso-uk-launch/

However, I don't see Virgin making use of this as the Tivo provides all the search information we need for the content available to us on the platform. If we get Amazon and other streaming services available added to our menus, the Tivos will be extremely useful for searching out material.

Why would it be on Tivo for? It isn't designed for tivo, sky boxes etc it is designed for tracking of shows and movies.
I think at the moment it's aimed more at people like myself who've cut the cord.

I agree, but you raised it in the Virgin Media forum, so I assumed you were making this connection.

Argos have great deals on NOW TV at the moment.

Now TV Box plus 6 months Entertainment Pass only £19.99.

http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4590602

Now TV Box plus 4 months SKY Movies pass only £19.99.

http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4536886

Sort out your years entertainment for only £99.95 (£8.33 per month)

You could probably make some money back selling the spare NOW TV boxes on E-bay or Amazon.

This is what I did at the tail end of last year when Currys were shipping the boxes for £18. Sold all the spares but one for £5 so got £20 back which I spent on a Roku stick from Tescos' Ebay outlet center :-)

I don't expect it to change anything unless the ISP finds a way to prevent it, which i find very unlikely anytime soon.

Unless they implement DPI I guess about the only thing they could do is to try and block access to the streaming servers. Seeing how stopping access to the major torrent listings sites is such a roaring success (not) it's mostly lip service IMHO.

No it isn't they will never end torrents/illegal streaming etc they can try but for every roadblock they'll be 3 new ways appearing.

A vpn gets around their blocks anyway and as long as you use a good quality vpn there isn't much speed loss, i use a vpn my speeds are 75mbs without the vpn on and with my vpn on they are at least 63mbs.
