This made me laugh when I saw it last week. He's not exactly in the strongest position to be demanding anything like that ;) :D

Who does he support. The games have been:
- Charlton v M (from London)
- Spurs v Aston V (from London)
- Hoofin' Festa (Leicester City) v Leeds Utd [Admin Edit] (Neil) nffc - do not post offensive comments like that again.

- Aberdeen v Rangers

That's all i can think of.

They don't ring a bell. He's a Pompey supporter although frankly he's interested in any form of sport apart from ice skating and and that synchronised swimming thing...

Re: [Merged] Football talk

Congrats to Chelsea but they did buy the title whilst Man Utd who have spent money, did so over many years whilst building a strong team.

Utd have been the most consistant performers in the league judging by titles won, not just over a season but back to back and three in a row.

Thats what made them just not good but awesome.

Yes Chelsea have won the title but can they win it back to back?

Defending the title is a different story which wasn't difficult for Utd when they were so dominate.

Oh and if Chelsea do win the CL it ain't a proper treble! ;)

What a load of tosh (putting it mildly), Wayne Rooney has not done anything lately that he didnt do 6,7 8 months ago. Why invite him in the first place when he`s always been like he is. I`m not condoning the abusive language to refs but if you take out the aggresiveness out of Rooneys game then he will not be the great player he is.
When Cantona was given community service, he worked with kids and I didnt see many people objecting to that.
At the moment, it seems to be lets all try and grind Wayne Rooney down until he`s just an ordinary player. Imo, carry on playing the way you are Wayne, thats why you are going to be an Old Trafford legend.

i can see their point though, he does have a problem with bad behaviour and it does not set a good example for youngsters and people who watch football then emulate what he does.

Maybe, but why invite him then, he was the same when he was invited, why change their minds now ?
Its the same with every good player in this country, lets knock them down.

I don't know why they are targetting Rooney when there is others in the game who do exactly the same!!!

How many times do you see other players from other teams swearing?

Think of all the bad boys in football who do this also...he ain't the only one!!

Re: [Merged] Football talk

But to be fair, Rooney is an exceptional talent and is idolised as such by many youngsters. There are plenty of other great players but very few who kids can relate to as easily due to his age for example. For this reason I can't complain about their decision - he is very foul mouthed and kids will emulate him.

This made me laugh (if true). Okay, they shouldn't have been advertising the return of Robbie Savage, but presumably that wasn't the only reason that the fans turned up for the match, they would have turned up as normal? :)
