are you trolling? Serious question.

This functionality (I think) is patented. you won't see it on any other PVR at least for the meantime.

I don't think Muppetman11 is trolling :)

I'm not sure how they are handling non-winners, Matt.

Before I had TiVo, I wasn't that fussed about Suggestions, but now I love them.

It's got to know me quite well now and is recording about 15 shows a day, some good movies I've always wanted to watch but never got around to :)

ALL-ROUND ENTERTAINMENT, ALL IN ONE BOX

Given that they're the linear descendants of the dials that used to offer you the options 'One, Two, Three, Four' on old-style TVs, set-top boxes should by rights be pretty dull.

But sitting down with Virgin's new TiVo set-top - its rival to Sky's HD - it offers more entertainment options than many small towns.

Look people are taking this a bit far. Yes I'll stand by the fact the PQ is not as good on TiVo, but it's not that bad either, it's perfectly watchable. The SD shows look the same as they do upscaled on my TVs built in tuner, however the V+ did a better job and newer SD shows or live events almost looked as good as the HD channels.

The TiVo is auto-switching output now depending on the source. It's displaying HD content at 1080i and SD content at 720p. And yes SD does look better displayed at 720.

The above says to me that the TiVo isn't doing any upscaling, it's leaving it to the TV.

However don't let it stop you getting TiVo!! Most shows are in HD now and the TiVo is an awesome bit of kit!

Do you think if I sat here putting my thumb up and down, I'd get smarter?

I could do with some help in that area.... :)

If it's displaying 576i as 720p then it is upscaling.
