As predicted but unfortunately this hasn't cleared up the issue of total services as that has increased by one yet again.

Maybe that down to "channel moved" being added to I.D. Channels old numbers.

Checking diagnostics, they are Service IDs 4403 & 4404 - which were already in the NIT, so it won't be those.

Would be interesting to know if this has appeared on all the VM TV packages or whether its been shoved behind the "Full House" HD paywall.

True, could someone on the M/Player pack please check to see if channel 203 is available to them?

There are now red button links (on TiVo at least) giving info on the channels due to move. What a good idea.

.... except that the channels have moved, past tense.

If you know where the channels are and you're watching them, you don't need the red button link to tell you where they are and besides, there is no red button link on ch 203 (old home of more4hd).... Totally useless.

I'm on Mix, Old M+ package.

I'm on Mix, Old M+ package.

If it is going to be a pay channel, I imagine that it will go into your package and above.

Be interesting to know if M/Player customers get it, as it is available on Freeview.

The Moviemix licence to broadcast is said to have been removed from the Ofcom list.

I do hope that after finally getting it that it's not going to close!

I expect it will close then! Maybe they got it at a knock down price, and if so, now they know why! :p:

I've been told that 4SevenHD wasn't added to the NIT until it appeared on the EPG, so that accounts for last nights increase of one in the Total Channels figure.

The previous increase was, indeed, related to the "channel moved" placeholder channels. Dormant SID 4464 "Channel Moved" was removed from the NIT, dormant SIDs 4403 "Channel Moved 3" and 4404 "Channel Moved 4" were added to the NIT, so a net increase of one. Last night, SIDs 4403 and 4404 became active and were both renamed as "Channel Moved". Sometimes, changes to the "Total Channels" figure are relatively meaningless.

Apparently, this is possibly due to a name change of the licence holder - there are now two different licences under 'SonyMovieChannel'.

I wonder if this ties in with what was said about Sony Movies coming to VM??

I wouldn't pay too much attention to it, Ofcom have been known to be slow at publishing changes in the past.

We found today that 16 channels has been axe from Total Channels sometime since Monday Night after 3am (Tuesday AM).

We can only think of the BBC Red Button Channels.

The new edition of Virgin Media Presents and the Channel Guide confirms that CBS Drama returns to Virgin Media's top tier TV package in December!

http://www.virginmediapresents.com/#tips/channelguide

It's laughable really, the likes of Sky 1, Sky Living, FOX, Universal, Syfy, Comedy Central, MTV, Alibi and W are all considered basic lower tier channels (M+ and above) whilst the crappy CBS Drama with no new or original programming, but full of Judge Judy repeats, gets treated like some premium channel that only the highest paying customers get.

Stunned that they've not moved it down to M+ with all of the other CBS channels on a permanent basis.

Hmmm, yes that does seem to be the most likely cause of such a large drop in services. There were only 15 dormant BBC Olympics * channels as BBC Red Button 1 is still active, so that leaves 1 other service removed.

Other candidates:

S4C HD - there are 2 services associated with this (SID 2355 S4C HD Slate and SID 2356 S4C HD) and we are only looking for 1. VM may be holding onto these for future one-off events.

Africa Channel (SID 658) - the channel has gone but VM may be holding onto this to avoid customer problems with playing back any recordings.

Hidden 22 (SID 2211), Hidden 23 (SID 2311) and Hidden 103 (SID 10320) - it is safe to exclude Hidden 103, it isn't in the regional NITs, so wouldn't be in the Total Channel count anyway. Hidden 22 is probably still needed as TS ID 22 isn't carrying any services at present. Hidden 23 is probably redundant as TS ID 23 is now carrying permanent services Sky Sports Mix HD, Universal Channel HD & Sky Hits HD.

I can't think of anything else at the moment.

So another FEEVIEW channel you have to pay for on vm.

The reduction in Total Channels has now been confirmed as the removal of the dormant BBC Olympics channels and Hidden 23.
