If you are big footy fan an want bt sports I'd change now whilst they have the deals tomorrow bt will up the price because they know you can't get elsewhere apart from sky

If we can exercise some patience to get to within the final few hours, then we can survive them too.

It could be a couple of weeks rather than a few hours

Would be the other way around, Shirley?

Not if the "still negotiating" party line is just bollox and both BT and VM know fine well that those channels will be launching at 6pm tomorrow. They couldn't wait till the last minute and then try and connect them up for deployment.

Bt and sky's customer services will probably be 24 hrs tonight ;)

I think I'd rather switch to Sky anyway.

True, but I've a sneaking feeling it will be hours. This is hardly peace or nuclear disarmament negotiations - surely they must have some good idea of a deal well before now, but seems VM have to abide by BT's request to embargo any announcement until 1st August.

But you might get some folk keeping VM and adding BT. Costly, but gets you what you want.

Why would there be a message on the TiVo box saying "from August 1st you will no longer be able to receive ESPN HD, ESPN, ESPN Classic, and ESPN America, but you can still get .. . . . . . . . .etc." if Virgin have/were to have signed a deal with BT over the sports channels. It seems pointless advertising the fact that we will lose channels then announce that VM have struck a deal.

To me, I believe if we DO get BT Sports, I don't think ESPN will be apart of that? could be wrong?

After trawling through 50+ pages of speculation and bickering. I think I'll wait and just look at the EPG every morning, if it's there, it's there, if it ain't ......

Another day, another superb display of emoticonning from Den!

I have to say I'm really surprised at the lack of an announcement from upc. Virgin get stick for not making announcements even when they've nothing to say, but to say there'll be an announcement and then not make one is pretty poor. I'm sure most of us were looking to the upc announcement as a possible indicator of what's going to happen with Virgin.

I remain convinced that Bt sport is no real loss, but I'm concerned that BomberAF will struggle if he comes back here, which is a shame given it's a long standing user account. I posted before that he seemed really credible, and I still believe that, but his information is certainly starting to look a bit duff. I hope people cut him some slack if it doesn't come off.

As an aside, if my use of the word meaning a pregnant goldfish was genuinely offensive then I apologise to those genuinely offended, although I stand by my comment - and I don't think I'm alone in that view either. I wasn't trying to circumvent the swear filter, but I had, obviously wrongly, assumed that it was set at a level commensurate with what the mods are prepared to allow. Common sense dictates that it should be!

Come to Virgin today

or something along those lines.

The problem with VM not getting either BT sports or Atlantic or the remaining channels in HD, is that it is handing over a massive sales advantage to their competitors. Only the higher broadband speed and the Tivo box to outweigh the huge deficiency in the channel line up.

I'm afraid that probably wont be the case, if he comes on here and says this is definately going to happen, and then it doesn't, he's leaving himself wide open to a bit of abuse!
