Is this a offical statement from both BT & Virgimedia press offices or just BT , and does andrew ferguson work for virgin or BT or is it a marketing ploy on BTS part

there is no "substitute" for BT Sport. This isn't like getting rid of MTV, but replacing it with The Box. you cannot get the coverage BT Sport gives on any other channel and if you're a sport fan there is no substitute for missing your team playing. And if you're somebody who didn't watch ESPN then you don't need it replacing. So I have no idea why non-ESPN viewers are demanding some kind of replacement?

Looks like it's a ridiculous situation where i will have a TIVO box next to my Freesat SkyHD box. and paying two bloody people.

Still holding out hope though, even at this point. Until VIRGIN confirm no deal done there's a chance. On twitter, they are still saying they're in talks. Reckon the talks go on all evening tbh until Virgin cave. They're going to have to, because BT won't just give it up on the cheap and why should they.

Obviously there's nothing to say at the moment I sure we will find out something tomorrow Bt are trying to get as many to sign up with them before an announcement is made so officially we are not getting it until it is officially announced so calm down and be patient

I was told that at 10.50 when I got a call fom vm head office,he told me bt didn't want to deal then.why would they there taking vm's customers cost price will probably go up now.what annoys me they ain't got a big Channel to compensate for this,Bt and Sky must be loving this and my prediction earlier this year of vm slipping to numb 3 provider still remains on course.with the recent rise in talk talk take up they could end up 4th yet

If BT said VM can't do a press release until 1st August then VM might as well carry on negotiations until the latest possible moment (5.30 today maybe) ... that is the only thing giving me any hope the moment and maybe why four channels are being tested at the mo.
