The Rwanda idea was never going to work, it was a last minute thing designed to win votes.

Starmer said this spending promise was the right thing to do,knowing it was 5 billion short, with no idea where the money will come from.

You don’t want to be doing that - you’ll get taxed at 40% or 45% the first month, and won’t get the overpayment back till the following year… ;)

Rwanda was illegal so good luck with that. If it was such a great idea, why was it saved to the last minute when they knew they would lose the election. Hint: It wasn't a good idea.

It couldn’t work while the ECHR and the Human Rights Act remained in place, which hadn’t dawned on Sunak until after he made his six promises to judge him by!

There’s nothing else that would have prevented it from working as far as I know.

It’s always a good idea to amend or end existing legislation that gets in the way of proposed changes a government wants to make.

Yes, but you talk as if it’s impossible to change legislation. It isn’t.

Does that include illegal immigration?

Oh dear, despite it being a lazy trope that the left of the Labour Party were being influenced by Russia it turns out the disgraced former Lord Peter Mandelson was a “privileged contact” of Russian spies.

Sir Kier - forensic

Between Boris and his links to the Lord Lebedev and who knows who funded Nigel’s 5 houses bought with cash it’s quite probable the only place without Russian interference in British politics was the Labour left.

From that article
Quote:

The dossier alleges that, in addition to Mandelson, the Kremlin had files on Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings, Nigel Farage, Jeremy Corbyn, and others.
That list includes Corbyn who was on the Labour left.

Maybe the only interference-free place was the Liberal Democrats?

The Kremlin probably, in fact definitely will have, files on damn near everyone involved in Politics and Big Business.

Much the same as the UK will have files on all the main players in most countries :PP:

Yes, quite.

A world of difference between having a file, or having them as a valued asset. Or on payroll via guest appearances on RT.

people are only a 'valued asset' until they're not . . . and subsequently desire a move to a ground floor flat ;)

Sometimes faster than they desired, through an open window…
