This is one of the reasons I prefer my V+ too.

yes I do mean that as its the most useful function it has - I can be recording a batch to my HD/DVD Recorder while watching a previous recording - I use that function every day and I would be very reluctant to let my V+ go.

Unfortunately, the TiVo hardware (as far as I know) wasn't designed to do this

So it's not even something an update can change.

Yes, but if you get a 1TB TIVO box, you can put up to 500 hours of recordings on there without having to copy them all to your DVD recorder.

Something Richard has mentioned a few times. According to AsianChannel (pinch of salt rumour poster) Sky Arts 2/HD to close to make way for Sky Bravo/HD

If your recordings are all HD its only around 120 hrs ;)

Attempting to get HD out of the V+ will lead to disappointment.

It really depends on what ones recording as we don't record that much in HD.

Netflix was only part of the update. There were many other things that make this a really good update even without Netlix.

More screens are now HD, enabling the small TV window to be part of the screen

Better feedback on clashes on planned recordings

Reorganising series links now works in the background instead of clogging up other tivo usage (reportedly; not tried it yet)

Back to back recordings on the same channel only take up one tuner, even I you have padding added.

The Tivo box is faster.

Did you even bother to find out what the update did, or did you just fancy having a moan?

The new BBC HD channels when launched on VM should be on the following EPG numbers:

BBC Three HD - 162
BBC Four HD - 163
BBC News HD - 604
CBBC HD - 710
CBeebeies HD - 711

Totally crazy channel allocations. Put BBC3 & 4 higher up the EPG than BBC2.

Why not move BBC2 HD to 185, then you could have:

BBC2 HD 185
BBC3 HD 186
BBC4 HD 187

or even move BBC Alba to 185, BBC2 HD to 186, & have the same pattern as with the additional ITV HD channels.
