Sounds like someone desperately seeking reasons why BJ didn’t get the votes he thought he was "promised", when the most likely answer is that he was lied to...

The theory is that Boris has enough support for him to essentially choose his rival and he would rather not face Gove or Stewart. Not because he would lose to them but because it might be a more bruising contest in terms of how Boris comes out of it. They think (correctly IMO) that Hunt will essentially be Mr Nice Guy.

They were all bad. Nobody answered any question properly. Stewart & Hunt came closest.

Ironically the only question Stewart actually answered, that he wouldn't cut taxes, was the one for which the questioner had a go at him for not answering.

It was a waste of time though. Boris did alright, nothing for him to feel bad about. None of them stood out for better or worse. Stewart was really weird in his body language, he stands out purely because he said different things. That's about it. Oh Javid seems to have got a commitment for a independent inquiry into Islamophobia....

I was thoroughly sick of it within about 15 minutes. Nobody really answered anything and was it just me or did Emily Maitlis only have pre-prepared attack lines for Boris?

The most entertaining thing about it was that Rory actually looked like someone had flipped his off switch whenever he thought the camera wasn’t on him.

You do all realise you missed Italy v Brazil in the Women's World Cup ? Some far more talented, honest people competing there. Your loss ....

Emily did not give them enough time to give detailed answers, and I think they all found that frustrating. If questioners ask their questions, they should listen to the answers rather than keep interrupting for no reason.

Stewart also provided his 'answer' to Brexit by saying he would re-present the withdrawal agreement to Parliament, which was May's plan. He has no answers that will fly and they should ditch him on the next round.

She did,but i was quite impressed by the way he just talked through it and didn't take the bait.
As for goofy his body language said it all.

'SHOULD HAVE CHECKED' BBC apologise after it emerges Corbynite Imam who grilled Tory leadership rivals attacked Jews and blamed women for rape on social media

The BBC vetting process needs work if this is the quality of it's guests.

The guidelines were they each had a minute to answer the question.

It would have been nice if they had the floor during that minute rather than be subject to constant interruptions.

What difference would that have made as they would have still obfuscated their way through any difficult questions.

That was never going to happen at the bbc.
