Dermot is annoying.
all he does is spins on the spot and shouts with his croaky voice.

Hmm true; his radio show is grim. Perhaps Cheryl Fernando-Colo-Tweedo could help him?

And I know I'll be in a minority of one here, but I would just like a basic "review the car" show without all the "entertainment".

It doesn't interest me whether a car can do 180mph, but it does interest me to know how many suitcases or bags of shopping I can get in the boot.

There's a lot of that kind of stuff on Youtube, car magazine sites and even independent blogs now.

Which is why Top Gear doesn't do it any more. It was brought back as a show where they do things with cars you can't do on the road, and as a way of giving joe public a vicarious thrill off Clarkson et al mucking about with supercars few of us will ever see up close, let alone get to drive.

Exactly. If I want to find out about a prospective new motor purchase then 10 mins of googling will give me more information than a whole series of old Top Gear ever did.

Why not have Piers Morgan taking Jeremys Role, Ian Hislop as Richard Hammond cos hes short and will argue with Morgan all the time as they cant stand each other and then Grayson Perry taking turns of doing drag one week and not another in order to catch both male and female viewers.

This is getting stupid now, As it was confirmed that Clarkson had hit the producer it was only right that Clarkson should be shacked. As much as i hate the BBC i feel they did follow the right procedure and that should be the end of the matter. Who ever is sending these threats will not get clarkson reinstated by doing this. They should just wait like the rest of us to see if another broadcaster takes on the 3 members of the top gear program.

Meanwhile in other news it looks like the BBC are trying a bit of damage limitation

Axed Jeremy Clarkson plans to make a dramatic Top Gear comeback in a matter of weeks – on the live tour Down Under.

The shamed 54-year-old will head to Sydney with James May, 52, and Richard Hammond, 45, to host the show in front of 40,000 fans over two days.

However, after he was dumped by the Beeb last week, organisers could be forced to rename it Clarkson, May and Hammond Live or MPH Live rather than Top Gear Live.

Although Clarkson’s contract was not renewed, it is understood he has a separate deal for the live shows.

Last week four tour dates in Norway were scrapped, but if the April 18 and 19 events are cancelled the Beeb’s commercial arm BBC Worldwide could face a huge lawsuit.
Financially this is going to cost the BBC a lot of money

Death threats are just silly. If people really want to protest in a way that hurts the BBC just cash in their TV taxes.

If this costs the BBC the sort of money some are guessing at, the BBC will just go running to the Government bleating poverty and ask for more money from the great unwashed via the TV tax.

Don't the Beeb get funding or loans from the EU?
