Indeed the others will announce price rises soon enough and as the old saying goes the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Thanks for the confirmation I called them and and was told I was only being charged for one and a credit was being applied fire the second. Oddly though they said I was being charged £4 not £3.

Just been speaking to my mother who informs me she can now watch True Movies on her M TV package, is this a promotional period like other channels have while it has been rebranded Tvrue Christmas or has it been put in the M package permanently?

I think it's just over the Christmas period , not 100% on that though.

I predict price rises from BT , plusnet , talktalk , Sky amongst others next year.

I have a doc infront of me of a channel launch but i'm not allowed to say nothing at the moment except that some of you are going to be very very happy.

For those who can't seem to grasp that this is a speculation and rumour thread aswell as general information , here is the thread you require http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...changelog.html

The change log isn't a discussion thread. Hinted in the name it's simply a log.

I have seen the information too but I am banned from posting it, hinting at it, miming it, revealing all through the medium of dance and ultimately remembering it. When it happens though. don't forget, whatever it was, it was forgotten here first ;)

Perhaps the thread should be renamed Coming soon to Virgin TV but we aren't allowed to say...

Of course you do, me too and am excited to tell you nothing about it either.

And yeah that other thread is a change log thread.

But the chances are that the SD version is just a scaled down version of the HD version. So although production costs have increased, it's just a technological advance.

Having said that, whether they should absorb that cost as natural technological advances like other innovations that can't be as easily labelled, and they are taking advantage of the fact that it can be labelled and inappropriately charging for it, is another matter entirely.
It's probably justifiable to charge extra fees to early adopters, that's invariably what happens anyway. It's debatable how long that can continue, it's probably a little late in the day for VM to introduce a surcharge for HD.

I didn't think you wanted a discussion thread, I thought you wanted a confirmed list of things definitely happening?

I agree that the change log isn't it, but perhaps I can point you in the direction of the links in Media Boy's signature?

Indeed Sky have made improvements this year but provider of the year has to go to Virgin Media in 2013 and that's the unbiased in me talking.

Yes I've been in this position since the April 2012 price rises. They started charging me for the second TIVO. I have spent many hours on the phone to them and they have admitted to me that I should only be charged for one, but the billing system apparently won't let them correct it. I keep having to phone up to get credits put on my account which just seems mad. With the extra £3 TIVO charge, two VM price rises and a Sky increase my bill went up over £15 in 12 months.
