Nice render, nothing too much you need / can do to that. Nice one.

I'm a sucker for shadows, would mean less light to what is a nice bright pic, ( but would also mean less detail), but could be more dramatic and lifelike as a payoff.

No you did not because we have a lot going for us here. Ok we do not have a mountain range but we have no extreme environment no Tsunami no volcanoes no earthquakes to mention no massive flooding no murderous mud slides we have the nhs even though it is strained we have long life spans we have a temperate climate that means on the main we have good crops. Be thankful for what you have because anything extra would just become normal in 5 minutes anyway

What a view that is though - it's astounding. We have some nice places in this country, Scotland and Wales have some unreal scenery, but that is amazing to me. Never seen anything like it.

Canon EOS 40D

It's a composition of 3 photos.

2 of them at 30 second exposures, me at the base of the windmill on one side setting off a flash, and the same the other side.
They were taken with the kit lens.

The third photo is just of the moon at either 1/5 or 1/10 of a second with a 55-250mm lens.

Add the layers together in photoshop using Screen blending so it ignores the black and then flatten before saving as a jpeg :)

Blending with one of the burn settings gave the moon a nice sepia tone, but made it a little too "subtle" in the background and unnatural.
Experiment with resizing the moon as too small and it loses impact, too large and it just looks wrong (in this photo anyway).

You kinda lost me on the technical stuff. What a great photo though, throw some Zombies in and you have a splendid opening to a film! Come on, lets get to the old Windmill. It reminds me of that fake double focus they sometimes have in films, where two different depths are both in focus and they blur the joint.

Is that why the stars are kinda streaking? 30secs, we are moving pretty fast on this little ball aren't we.
