Re: Football Season 2014/15

Great game, Hazard is some player and if you took him and Costa out at the same time Chelsea would not look as good. I think that I, like most United fans would have taken a draw before kick off, that felt as good as a win, the roof nearly came off OT.

Can't see past Chelsea for the league if they can keep Hazard and Costa fit.

I don't know about commentators curse, I was thinking quietly to myself that Diddling Dogbreath had done nowt. Five minutes later he scores :(

Re: Football Season 2014/15

Rafael took a lot of blame for their goal, but i reckon Van Persie should've cleared it off the line, it was pretty much straight at his head! Although It happened so quickly, maybe i'm being harsh?

I agree about Chelsea, thats two of their most difficult games out the way now and they've drawn both of them which is pretty good. Can't see past them for the league, which makes todays result ok for us.

denphone 26-10-2014 19:58

Re: Football Season 2014/15

Looking at the match today l definitely see improvement from MU but at least 1 or 2 more transfer windows will be needed before they challenge for the title again and as for Chelsea well they are certainly going to take some stopping that's for sure.

Yes because changing manager once or twice a year has worked out so well for spuds thus far...

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has responded claims he left an ageing squad at Old Trafford by insisting that it was an "insult" to suggest he left the club in anything other than rude health. (Guardian)

What a bitter old man he is, seems a shame after all he achieved in the game

There is nothing wrong with the manager Arthur as its the players who are underperforming and perhaps he needs to get rid of a few of them.

I think the amount he has be criticised is unfair, he left a team that had just won the premier league easily and were unlucky not to go far in the champions league. It's not a bad way to leave a club in.

The cracks are starting to show in my patience for LVG. I wasn't expecting instant success, a top 4 finish would have been good for this season while he rebuilds but if he doesn't reinforce the defence in January I don't see anything to suggest CL qualification this year. It depends on who's available obviously but this team (albeit with injuries) won't be challenging for anything.

One of United's biggest weapons during the SAF era was the fear factor. That's now gone - the massive gap in defence means clubs simply aren't scared of United any more. If LVG fills that gap we'll be on the long road to regaining that fear.

Another defensive injury for us today, finished with Carrick and Blind at centre back! Thank god its the international break now. I was impressed with Shaw again today, at least we've got 2/5 parts of our defence sorted for the future in him and De Gea.

I don't think Chelsea will go the season unbeaten, we've only had 11 games, they will go through a bad patch like most teams do during a season.

Yeah but we're still feeling the effects of the Moyes era. I'm pretty sure Chelsea will finish unbeaten and wouldn't be surprised if they take the treble this year.

I have been a Spurs fan for over 40 years, and l am appalled, at the way they played today.
There was no idea, no thought from Poch. He doesn't have a clus on how to run a big club like Spurs (sorry Saints Fans).

I was there recently, and they didn't have a clue. Soldado, how much longer does he need to become a top striker for Spurs.

Sadly, l can see Tottenham fighting relegation this season. Daniel Levy, has to get his cheque book, and also sack Poch.
We have to bring in someone who will put in the right players who will fight for that Tottenham shirt - some of the players think it is just turn up for training and get £90.000 per week for doing something that l have seen better on a Sunday Morning in the park

Spurs have been rubbish since they made the big mistake of sacking Harry. Sadly, I don't think even the promise of a massive transfer budget would tempt him back to the Lane to rescue them.

Especially when he's having enough trouble rescuing QPR
