Yep, Season 4 (8 episodes) wont be until 2022.
The article did say they were looking at possible spinoffs.

So are a lot of others, its SyFy's most successful show since Defiance, Season 2 was a no brainer.

surely that means it should be cancelled then :p: It averages 1.1m viewers a week which is double The Expanse because if I remember correctly it was floating around the 500,000 mark.

Burden of Truth has ended after 4 seasons. Season 4 concluded this week and whether they had planned it or not, it served as the series finale and wrapped all the character arcs up very nicely.

Possibly this has something to do with it.

Quote:

There is no mention of it in the cancellation announcement, but the fact that the show is coming to an end almost certainly has some connection to the lawsuit it is currently attached to. Parties linked to the creators of the original 1985 series that starred Richard Dean Anderson in the lead role have claimed the reboot is a spin-off and that they are entitled to part of the profits. CBS denies these claims, and it appears that both sides will end up in court. The legal entanglements could follow the show for a while, and it is likely that the network decided to end it now rather than continue to put money into a production that they may lose the rights to or have to share revenue on the profits (it is likely more expensive than the average CBS drama). MacGyver did not rely heavily on story arcs (and really just barely counts as genre entry), but it is unclear if the creative team had enough notice to write a satisfying conclusion for the series.

Agreed, I also like Kung Fu. If someone doesn't like it what does it matter if it's renewed or not?

Haven't watched Big Sky so can't comment, even if I didn't like it I wouldn't be bothered if it was renewed.

There's a lot on TV I don't care about being renewed.

Something we'll have to get used to Paul. If it's integral to the storyline I don't mind but if just for the sake of it then it's a different matter.

And it is for that reason that it doesn't bother me or hit my realism factor. Given the time period Claire is set in (1994 I think) it is perfectly plausible that they had the issues which are being addressed in the series.

Its almost always for the sake of it.

Nancy Drew the other week was a prime example.

The whole show is about the supernatual, and yet all of a sudden, shes got to investigate a missing girl, is it because shes a ghost, or monsters got her ---- nope, its becasue [of course] the Police didnt bother (becasue of course she was black). Not a supernatural element in sight, just a "the police are racist and bad" episode. FFS.

Pretty much like every show must have gay lead characters now (and god forbid you actually kill one .. ).

No one cares about some random SEO site.
Forums are not Social Media sites, in the generally accepted sense.
If you talk to people about "Social Media" sites, they dont consider forums.

I'm quite sure you are well aware of that of course, just trying to score points.
None of this has anything to do with renewals or cancellations, so stop trying to be clever and get back to the subject.

Imho social media is all about expressing points of view, personal opinions and venting; all in one or two sentences. Forums, especially technical ones such as this, can provide purely factual and technical information with no personal comments or opinions. I along with many others have provided detailed technical assistance with correspondings screenshots amounting to several pages of information many a time over the years and you cant do that on social media. That is not what it is for.

That’s the joy of TV/film/books/etc. - enjoyment is subjective.

I would never call "Mrs Brown’s Boys" or "Miranda" terrible - they’re not the sort of thing I enjoy, but lots of people do.

I love watching Marvel films/series, SWMBO has no interest at all - neither of us is wrong, just different tastes.

Netflix has released the cast of “Jupiter’s Legacy,” effectively bringing the show to an end after one season. At the same time, the streamer has ordered a live-action adaptation of Mark Millar’s “Supercrooks” to series.

“Super Crooks” is set within the same world as “Jupiter’s Legacy” and will follow supervillains just as “Jupiter’s Legacy” followed superheroes, with Netflix positioning the new show as the next installment in an anthology series.

Manifest cancelled by NBC.

Gutted about that. Was a great show and the finale really needs a final episode or small series run to resolve it. Maybe someone will pick it up.

They are searching for alternatatives but they very rarely prove successful. I hope they do but don't hold much hope.

I am amazed it made it past season 1. Did they ever work out what actually happened to the place or is it still ongoing?

Still on going and from the series finale, it was going to get very interesting had the next season gone ahead.

The third season of Manifest averaged a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.07 million viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season two, that’s down by 31% in the demo and down by 21% in viewership.

Warner Bros. TV, which co-produces the series, is expected to shop season four elsewhere. Manifest has reportedly performed well on Netflix so the streamer may be an option.
