Is this a Lib-Con combination of 'early release' and 'care in the community' then? :D

Just to comment on a couple of other recent posts - good luck to TheDaddy and Superbiatch and well done Tinky on your anniversary. I feel confident in saying that Mr Tinky is indeed a very lucky guy... :D

Anyway my happy thought for today relates to our eldest. I popped in on his karate class this evening and he was there taking a group of about a dozen juniors through their paces like a complete pro - totally unfazed by any of it! If anyone has a natural ability to teach it's him and we're really hoping he can turn his love of karate and wonderful way with people into a career in one way or another for the future.

He'd probably kill my with a single blow if he knew I'd posted this but just before Xmas he came home from classes with a card and a present from one of the young lads he teaches. I watched as he read the card and the sight of tears in his eyes really touched me. When I was his age I'd probably have opened the present and chucked the card but he's so different (thankfully) I can now see what a remarkable young man he's becoming and what a gift for people he has. If only I had a faction of his patience......

I really should pop in here more often, it always cheers me up!

Maybe you could get Peter to do a new theme each week and consider mounting the old casts as art work. I think that a Dr Who Tardis one could be quite an eye catching addition to your collection of memorabilia. :D

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Just had a weird fault that seems to have cleared itself..

A few months ago, my Windows HDD died, so I borrowed a 200 gig drive from Work, and set windows up on it. Didn't think anything more of it, until last week.

Last week, Windows started playing up a little, and my Windows drive was down to it's last few gig. So I took the opportunity to buy a new 2TB HDD, backed up all my important stuff and set Windows up again.

Been spending the last day or so setting up all the software I needed, and finally got around to setting up PowerDVD.

Then, I noticed a weird problem. I have my sound card hooked up to a Home Cinema system via SPDIF, and DVDs sounded a little odd. Running the Windows test showed that the card was ignoring the front left/right speakers. All the others worked fine, but the front two didn't.

Anyhow, after installing a few other sundry bits of software, I needed to reboot the machine. When the machine came back up the sound card was fine and I can now play back DVD/Blu rays in 5.1 sound...

I have put all my appointments and things into my iPad but when I synced it to the pc and vice versa it kept moving them to like 3 in the morning and the reminder alarm was going off to take insulin and stuff at 2am

After MUCH trying to sort it - it turns out I had the iPad set on some odd country time (starting with a c) - instead of uk time

No worries - we stayed in the Stradley Arms Hotel (where I was drinking the Peroni); I would recommend it if anyone has to visit/stay over in Lllanelli.

Thank you for your kind thoughts - it was a celebration of her life, rather than a mourning of her death. Friends and family travelled from all over the country to be there to remember her, which was a wonderful tribute to a great lady.

Good when it can be like that - but sad, none the less - however it sounds as if she will be remembered fondly by many people, which is all any of us can hope for :)

I vote that you get Peter to add a purple streak to your hair, colour co-ordination is definitely the way to go. :D

When our last cat Pu died John and I were so devastated that we vowed never to have another cat.

Well our resolve vanished when we saw Riley. So I happily introduce our new house-mate. He is only 18 months old but is already 30cms at the shoulder so I suspect he is going to be a very big cat. I'm just hoping that we can convince him that he wont get hit or kicked and that he is safe with us before he wrecks the house.

Now, has anyone one any tips on treating cat bites?

LOL I had forgotten how :erm: interesting a rescue cat can be. :D

He's a lovely looking cat Jo! He will never replace Pu that we know, but I'm sure he will reward you and John a million times over in the years to come, for giving him a loving, caring home. :)

What a beautiful cat and he looks so proud. He will be the boss of the house if not already. He wont be long learning that your a very gentle person Jo and will settle in very happy to your family.

He will soon realise that you mean well and are happy to feed him upon request but will probably stay aloof and deign to to be friendly on his own terms with the occasional reminder ( bite ) to remind you who is in charge.;)

He is a handsome boy and looks quite regal.:)

Derek thats just cruel

Jo that cat just looks royal with his head like that, bit of a lion.

With regards to Derek I would really put the taser on him for even mentioning it :p: but then you'll probably get done for causing harm to a police officer so I wouldnt do that.

Thanks for all the posts guys they were all much appreciated. Riley seems to have settled a little, or maybe that's just wishful thinking as I did get another small bite this morning. :D

He already thinks that he is Lord of all he surveys Masque so I dead to think how much of a dictator he will become once he gets a shed load of confidence.

Derek the taser idea does look as though it may work but I really wanted a live cat at the end of this taming period and I fear the RSPCA may take a dim view of my using one.

Doc considering the animal population that Derek has had to deal with in the past I am sure that he has considered using a taser at times but use one on Riley ... never. Riley would have him for lunch if he attempted such a thing. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/04/12.gif

One last bit of self indulgence on my part. A photo I managed to take this morning. LOL I'm back to being a boring old cat woman again. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2011/01/53.gifSorry.

If he bites again you can always use this old cat womans trick

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn9M4...eature=related

Here she is again offering sound advice on what to do should Derek and his taser come calling

LOL I wouldn't rate my survival chances trying to throw a 3 foot long ball of fluff with claws at each corner and fangs at the sharp end across a table let alone over our house. :D

Now that one is definitely more feasible. :D

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Just booked three nights in London mid-February to celebrate our wedding anniversary - stopping at a new hotel, the W at Leicester Square (opening night our first night there).

Taking in a couple of shows (Jersey Boys booked, looking for another one at the moment), and looking for a nice restaurant for the night of the 14th around there - any suggestions from people living in London would be most welcome.

Then just spend a quiet couple of days doing touristy things I don't normally do when I am working in London - London Eye, the DUKW trip, some of the museums, and I am sure my darling wife will want to get some shopping in.....:)

Depends what you want really - but the chances of you getting anything for that date in a really nice place are going to be a bit remote.
