Someone tweeted virgin media saying she had been told by someone from virgin on the phone that they would be getting bt sports, so people seem to be hearing different things

Anyone find it unfair that anyone who has bt broadband and virgin tv can't get bt sports but people who have bt broadband and sky tv can

That's the thing, you won't get any confirmation from VM, all you will get is we are still in talks, it will continue to rumble on and on just like Sky Atlantic.

Until ofcom get off their arses and stop media providers owning transmission mechanisms this is always going to happen. There is no reason why all channels can't be on all transmission mechanisms and the consumers then pay for what they want to receive. The sooner we get pay per channel and all the subsidised rubbish vanishes the better. If a channel can't stand on its own feet then get rid of it.

There really is no point in all this speculation. BT Sports may or may not come tomorrow, but I believe that it will. VM are still saying they are in negotiations, but actually, this is probably a done deal. The truth is, unless BT or VM put out an official statement about this, we will not know until the launch date, and even then it may still come, but a little later.

If the tweet from the BT source was correct, I believe that VM would have told us we are not getting it. So no reason to be pessimistic at this stage.

As for your second point - since when has life been fair?

I would largely agree but they do hold NHL rights for the next three years and enforced online blackouts last year for those who subscribed directly with NHL online so there is some value left there, albeit not a lot.
