Silly question, but is UPnP enabled on your SH2?

Yes, well it is on my Trial Modem, never had a problem on any of the other 3 customer SHs.

This is purely down to a new kind of modem on Virgin Media, hopefully a firmware will fix it.

Have you guys on the new dash been using the One Guide to change channels and stuff?

If you have never tried it or even never run your TV through the X1 i really recommend that you give it a go as it is the fastest experience at flicking through channels i have ever experienced and i think it is rather good.

How would I set the TiVo up to run through the X1? Might give it a go tomorrow morning. Wanted to do it since I got the X1.

Think i followed the instructions when i got the Xbox, you basically have to plug the HDMI from the Tivo into the back of the Xbox in the correct slot and then from the Xbox to the TV then you set it up, although it was years ago so i cant remember what gets asked first.

You will need to tell it your make of TV Box though, try these instructions but it was dead easy.

Make sure you select 50hz in the settings or you will get a judder.

For the old dash board but it will likely be similar.

Thanks. All I found on Google was US results, nothing for Virgin Media. Will test it tomorrow.

It is really hard to explain it all and i may say it wrong.

1. Take HDMI that went from the Tivo to the Telly and put it into the back of the Xbox, in the labelled slot.

2. Then take the other HDMI from the Xbox to the TV HDMI slot.

3. Go settings on Xbox then TV & One Guide, One Guide.

4. In One Guide select TV lineup and put your details in.

5. Come back out and go to Device Control this is where your cable box should be entered correctly and also your TV should be showing your exact model if you have never done that before.

6. Come back out and check Audio & Video, make sure 50hz is ticked.

7. Come back out to the settings and go to Display & Sound, 50hz needs to be ticked in there too.

Then when it is all up and running you select One guide which should bring up TV then with controller(i use the media remote which uses Kinect) you can move the left nob to the left or up or down then you can change channels and generally get used to it and learn how it all works, you can even set channel favs, switching channels is so fast, well it is compared to my V+.

Anyone know how to fix a STRICT NAT on the Xbox One as i now get this after installing a trial modem?

I solved this by giving my xbox a static IP in my router and opening certian ports, which I will dig out later.

Hit a block when I realised you need Kinect to setup the TiVo with console. Don't have Kinect so will have to abandon that. Thanks though for the instructions, will bookmark that post and save up for a Kinect.

Why do you need Kinect to setup a tv box?

Re: The Xbox One Thread

Xbox One uses Kinect as an IR blaster for channel changing etc.

Without Kinect, the console cannot control the TiVo or any other STB, which makes routing the STB through the console rather pointless, as you can't use OneGuide and still need the STB's remote.

There is a way without Kinect, though:

Xbox One also has a port on the back for connecting an IR extension cable.

You'd need something like this:

You can use the Xbox controller to use the Oneguide, i do agree it is better with the remote which needs Kinect though.

You don't need Kinect for the Media Remote as such - you need it for the IR blasting so that the console can control your TiVo / Sky box / whatever.

Doesn't matter if the Xbox One controller can navigate the OneGuide if there is no Kinect for the console to then control the STB.

Whether you use the Media Remote or the controller for the OneGuide, it's the Kinect (or separate IR extender thing as I linked to earlier) that actually controls your STB and other devices.

No Kinect (or IR extender) means that the OneGuide is pointless as you still need to control the STB using its own remote.

On right I understand now, glad I have Kinect then as it is far better navigating a channel list than my slowwwww V+, wonder how I will feel when I get a TiVo though?

Re: The Xbox One Thread

So I could still connect the TiVo through the console, but use the remote instead of Kinect?
