I hate to be a killjoy - but could those wanting to discuss the merits and technicalities of Dolby Digital perhaps start another thread. I have just come home from work and had to plough through a couple of pages of discussion about Dolby (which doesent really interest me) in a thread about new channels comming to VM.

Obvioulsy I dont object to occasional questions and short discussions that are off topic but this one is getting a bit excessive.

Hey i have just asked virginmedia through twitter this :

As this is a movie streaming via the net and also through cable but you need to have both to get the service and i got this reply :

virginmedia: @devilincarnate0 We certainly have plans to expand our HD offering, but due to confidentiality, we are unable to confirm deals until done.AA

I know that i have posted about this before but now epix hd have started to confirm deals and i know that one reply to my post earlier was that it seems to be a USA thing but they may be able to do it and then it would benefit the company and also the customers that have been wanting something like this for ages .

Someone stop me if iam going on a bit ?

I doubt this very much. As far as I'm aware the UFC 101 and pre-season friendlies/European football will be shown in HD. I assume you're going by Livesportsontv.com, which isn't entirely accurate.

Well, according to ESPN's own site, the first 'also available in HD' does seem to be the footy on 15th August.

ESPN's site isn't accurate either, I'm certain something will be broadcast in HD before the 15th.

All of Setanta Sports games of Europa League will be on ITV4 or Five with the Final being on Five.

That just leaves the FA Cup rights previously held by Setanta, which ESPN are rumoured to be after.
