I'm struggling to see that link Den but thanks for confirming.

Sky/Now TV offer something that Netflix don't; a large number of currently airing shows, and HBO/Showtime content. Sure there is overlap on the box set aspect, but there is enough of a difference for people to want both. I use both and I'm sure many other people do the same.

So you think Sky will have Netflix on their platform then OB?

I doubt also that Sky will ever get Netflix as they'll want people going for Sky Cinema rather than elsewhere!

I don't know. I see no conflict, and if Sky reach the same conclusion, then it's possible.

More knowledge I doubt that , being honest Den I got the whole Netflix on pay tv boxes completely wrong.

If you remember I was of the opinion that adding it would be disruptive when many on here including Old Boy said it would be complementary.

Netflix is now positioning itself as a producer of high quality original content , year on year they are increasing their content spend on original commissions putting themselves in the shop windows of many of the pay TV platforms.

Adding Netflix to Sky isn't as easy as on the likes of VM and BT of that we agree because Sky produces many of its own shows and has a competing movie service that said it doesn't mean it can't be done. Comcast in the USA is the biggest cable TV provider and also own channels/content to and they've recently struck a deal , I believe satellite provider Dish Network also has a deal.

This is an interesting read.

Netflix show relatively old films (with a few exceptions). Sky cinema gives you access to the most recent released for streaming films.

Quick question on Sky's films channels, do they still show on-screen logos on them? thanks.

An interesting development...

I don't subscribe to the movies part of Now TV. Thankfully MM knew the answer.

The last line of the link you posted says "*This deal currently does not include Virgin Media customers" Hopefully a deal will be done by January.

It also said that PPV events will only be available as PPV - and HD subscribers will still get HD.

Thing is PPV events are currently free to BoxNation HD subscribers.
