Let's hope the future is bright for Virgin. With his Sky experience, I hope he can gain fair deals with broadcasters and new channels/content (hopefully).

so virgin media have created a job title and role they never had before ie had survived on without before....without playing devils advocate vm are now probably paying 300k a year for this bloke. it had survived ten years + without a "Chief Digital Entertainment Officer" before.

Seems to be an ongoing thing at the moment. companies cut jobs, hike up bills but then create these phantom jobs which hadnt existed before on huge, huge wages. its illogical.

But if vm can give me bt sport europe in xl ill hero worship them again like the massive handsome hypocrite i am

maybe not, but it's on LG televisions, which are pretty popular.

I have an LG Smart TV. Cord cutters dream. Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and NOW TV. Performs brilliantly. Great alternative to traditional pay TV.

They're also on LG Bluray players, but the Amazon app won't do 5.1 audio.

If streaming is all you want, then personally I don't think you can beat an Amazon Fire TV/ Now TV box combo. The Now TV Box has all the UK main channel catchup services, and the Amazon Fire TV can have Kodi added for streaming any ripped DVDs.

No thanks, I just want it as a streaming service on VM. Why should we have to pay for a box???!

Because the chances of it being added to Tivo are pretty much nil.

VM don't have to pay anything if they just present Now TV as a subscription based service.
Isn't that the same as saying that Tesco don't need to pay anything if they let Sainsbury sell their goods in a corner of a Tesco store? Why on earth would you do it? And, of course there would be a cost in terms of software and training call centre staff in possible questions.

Streamed channel or streaming service? Whats the difference? Not a lot. They are both wholesaleing of the content, so if Sky wont allow one, they sure as hell wont allow the other either.
