So you lose your job or do you just mean they take over the management side of it?

...and no offense, but there is no need to type every first letter a capital ;)

Telewest and NTL haven't merged yet, and discussions about the operations of the company at such a level as indicated here has not happened.

Seeing that Orangebird is a member of NTL staff then I would think that she is in a position to respond as she has. If you read http://ntltelewest.mergerannouncement.com/ you will see that

The transaction is subject to U.K. regulatory approvals, approval by the shareholders of both companies and other customary closing conditions. It is expected to close in the first quarter of 2006.

Would be funny if the shareholders blocked it, serve them right for announcing something before its done for once.

Not likely the big shareholders would have been extensively consulted on the deal.

.

Not likely there would have been much objection to the whole deal happening. Bill Huff is the majority share holder in both companies. He did the debt for equity deal for both NTL and Telewest.

So I would have thought that the proposed merger between the two companies was not a major issue with the remaining share holders.

it's not a merger even if that's what some of their press announcements call it.

The shareholders have been pushing for this as it will increase shareholder value significantly to have one cable player vs one sat player vs one TDTV player. Synergeys of admin, purchasing power, single brand to advertise across the UK. It all really does make you question why the Govt initially had multiple licencences for this way back when.

Further to other responses ... the shareholders of NTL and Telewest are to a great extent one and the same. They have nothing to lose from this, and everything to gain.

Yeah I know it is very unlikely it will fall through now :(

NTL to not change anything with Telewest customers

From reading the agreement with Telewest it seems NTL have agreed to alter nothing after the merger, speeds, prices contracts. This leave the NTL customers capped while Telewest customers are uncapped.
