Re: Virgin TV (2025)

What have you got against VirginMedia when companies beyond their control are closing channels?

Sky's satellite service has now started to wind down their linear channel offering and there is not really any need for +1 services in Sky Stream.

It has been reported in the press that Sky History +1 is being closed too.

Sky satellite EPG is also losing HD versions of Sky History 2 and two U& channels. Also two other being removed including Trans World Radio.

I had assumed it was another error (it's been listed as closing at least twice in the past when it wasn't).

Can you remember which part of the press reported this, sometimes they get their information from forums like this, so errors can creep in. However, as Paul has said it has closed on Sky, I fear it may be true this time.

I wonder if any more channels are set to close next week on Sky Q:

The following will close this week on SkyQ:

Monday:
*Sky Sports Racing SD
*TWR (Will also close on Freeview and Freesat)
*Ramazan TV HD

Tuesday:
*U&W HD ROI
*U&W HD^
*U&Yesterday HD^

Wednesday:
*Sky History 2 HD^

^No idea on if channels may also close on Virgin Media V6 and TV360 boxes.

Curiously, even though channel 331 says 'Channel no longer available' from 6am on 10 April, a programme search brings up programmes after this date for this Channel!!

There is no reason for them to close, as they are line fed to VM. Several HD channels that have already been removed from satellite remain on VMs broadcast boxes, including some that were never even launched on satellite (eg. ITV Be, PBS America).

Re: Virgin TV (2025)

The two U& HD have now gone off Sky EPGs and the signal removed too.

No disruption on VM - they are still there.

Still labelled NVTV on Cable and DTT as far as I know. It has carried That's TV since 6am on Wednesday as you suggest. A press release from Northern Visions TV confirms the new arrangement.
