With the average age of both Chelsea and United last night as well it could almost be the Youth Cup.

Oops, anyone else see the Last Post bugle player just before kick off at Bournemouth. He had forgotten to take a cloth out of his bugle and it flopped out as he started to blow.:D

Yes a few duff notes too, not the best performance ! Guess it's not an easy thing to do in the rain.

Clear handball from Alli, tackle from Son was a bit late and careless but it was hardly a yellow card never mind a straight red.

I have to disagree Jim.

These so called top sides press high up the pitch. When their opponents break away it now seems standard practice to do whatever is necessary to stop the break.

Some muppets call it taking one for the team.

It is a blight on the game and needs stamping out.

Son deliberately tripped Gomes and the eest is history.

l agree but there are no excuses for the abuse that he has faced as Son was very upset by what happened to Gomes with regards to his very serious injury.

Well the FA quite rightly agree with me. ;)

50% of the time that tackle would not have even got a yellow cand.

Judging from most of the comments from the Everton side I would suggest that they are of the same mind as me.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

VAR is meant to review red cards re: Son. It didn't.

How can you implement a solid VAR system when the people reviewing it are as embarrassingly bad as the referees they're correcting.

Horrible start to the VAR PL era. The world cup didn't exactly paint it in a good light either. The human error is still there and now it's just worse because it's publicised way more via VAR.

Also worth noting it's for spotting a clear and obvious error. A blatant offside. A dive etc. Not when someone's armpit is 5cm offside. :erm: Both by Martin Atkinson.
