Just watched The Dark Knight Rises on the VOD service on my Sony Blu-ray player in HD and it was also faultless.

Saying that video streaming is working ok for you at the moment proves nothing of value. It is known that VM has more than its fair share of streaming video issues, either by not having enough enough peering bandwidth or by local utilisation issues. Look at how long it took them to resolve the youtube streaming issues at the end of last year for example. The virgin fan clun cxan't deny that one ;)

Again goes to show how bad virgins network is compared to sky.

Well, I've had netflix since the first week it launched, around a year ago, and never had problems streaming HD versions of their content.

Plus VM are one of the ISPs that have signed up to netflix's new CDN, which will give even better quality streaming.

By "we", I suspect you mean a grand total of two. I'm pretty confident that most people couldn't care less about your obsession with my viewing habits and find your interjections disruptive to the ongoing discussion about Virgin Media Television.

In common with other members, I am not obliged to provide any information that I do not wish to share- i'm truly amazed that it's taken so long to sink in.

Out of respect for the majority of the participants in this thread, i'm now going to draw a line under this.

Look, it's here:

I take it your referring to the titles which list as Super HD ? This appears to work on my PS3 and I'm on Sky BB it also works with quite a few other ISP's I believe.

I'm not interested in your viewing habits. I am interested in your continued ducking of the question, and I suspect that interest extends to more than two people. If, in fact, you have said that Al Jazeera has a bias, but have actually never seen the channel, then perhaps you should be prepared to accept that your opinion of its output is based on little factual evidence and as a result, opinion or no, isn't really valid?

My opinion of the BBC is that it is institutionally biased and that this is reflected in its news output. I have watched and listened to the BBC's news output and base my opinion of it on what I have seen and heard. I suspect that the fact that the first "B" stands for "British" whilst you mentally associate Al Jazeera with global Jihad is the basis for your opinion.

That's why the poster said VM were one of the ISPs who have signed up to Netflix CDN

FWIW When people were reporting streaming problems on YouTube/ HD I never saw any problems myself and I'm yet to get my double speed upgrade.

Sky wasn't listed on the list though and many of the websites reporting this feature only made mention to BT and VM.

Aim your post at the right person , I haven't mentioned anything about VM's streaming quality in this thread , personally I'm not bothered about your YT streaming experience.

- Making the sum total increase to 3, out of all the people registered on this forum, will not be making any difference to what has previously been stated.

- Being aware that I have attempted to draw a line under this, being aware that a more suitable thread exists to discuss such matters and being aware that this thread is primarily for the discussion of possible channel additions to the Virgin Media TV service leads me to believe that you are being deliberately vexatious.

It wasn't aimed at you hence the space between the 2 sentences. What list? There were no lists in the link posted by the poster which mention BT and VM

Not at all. On that other thread you have told somebody that their opinion is invalid because it's based on incorrect information or without full knowledge of the facts. Here you have said that your opinion of Al Jazeera is that its news output is biased. You are entitled to that opinion, but it's not unreasonable to test the validity of your opinion to the same standard that you expect of others, and yet when asked whether or not you yourself have any have any knowledge on which to base your opinion you have continually dodged the question. Hypocrite.

What the hell as all this got to do with coming soon to virgin media tv,really shows how bad things have got when this forum topic is full of sky bb is better than vm bb,personally at the minute I think vm is better for broadband and sky millions light years ahead on tv and will always be.As for TiVo and sky hd box debate the TiVo tech is superb but sky big advantage I personally think is the vastly superior dynamic TV guide constantly updated and provided for free whilst we get charged £3/£5 (still trying to work out what the hell for),can we please now get back to dreaming about new channels and vm actually getting off there arses and actually acquiring some to justify the price increase next month:banghead:
