He said: "It would be wrong to say that he is likely [to run in the 2,000 Guineas]. Obviously he's a possible, but not definite."

One of the most recognisable figures in the racing world, California-based Baffert has won the Kentucky Derby three times and counts seven Breeders' Cup triumphs among a multitude of major victories in America. He has received the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer on three occasions.

Lets hope this great man makes a full recovery.

"The sire of three Epsom Derby winners including last year's brilliant winner Pour Moi, as well as Camelot, the favourite for this yearâ€™s edition, Montjeu was one of the best stallions in the world and in 2011 he sired 15 individual Group/Graded winners in the northern hemisphere, which was the equal of Galileo.

Very sad to hear this news about one of the worlds leading sires.:shocked::(

THE Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan on Saturday was voided after Fox Hunt broke down in the centre of the track early in the race.

The Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained Fox Hunt was positioned on the outside of the field when he came down a couple of furlongs into the Group 3, sending jockey Silvestre de Sousa crashing to the turf.

The race continued with Makani Bisty leading the field, but it became clear Fox Hunt could not be moved in time as the runners began to complete a circuit and a speedy decision was made to stop the contest.

Thank god the jockey escaped serious injury.

Its a shame that this brilliant horse is highly unlikely to run in America.

The winner, who races in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani, was halved to 10-1 by Coral for the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 5 and that is Clement's number-onetarget.

The field were led through the early stages by Misedargent but with three furlongs left to run it was apparent Soumillon was very confident and travelling strongly.

He finally let the filly down in the final two furlongs and she quickened clear impressively, though Belle De Lune, the only horse travelling in a manner to suggest she could pose a threat, was caught in a pocket behind tiring horses and was denied a run.
