Damn, I didn't want to have to say this, but I do feel the prevalence of 'non English' players in the Premier League tends to stifle the potential of the players actually eligible to represent their country.

Couple that with the recent tendency to recruit foreign managers for the England team & I wonder why we have so many England flags flying?

I'd rather we bowed out of the World Cup with dignity, under an English manager, with a team based on the best our local clubs could recruit through their youth schemes, than with a second eleven under an Italian with a limited resource?

Millionaires don't seem to have the motivation to play well for England. They have it all already :).

I can sort of see what Rooney was on about, it's what you lot always do especially in the media, in the run-up to the finals everywhere you look it's "we can do it this time" etc then as soon as you have a bad game you turn on your team. I'm just waiting for the "fabio must go" headlines. But then again if Rooney doesn't want the fans booing then maybe he shouldn't play like a Sunday league striker. Actually I thought SWP had a pretty decent game, he almost stood out.

Some players have the same attitude as film stars, don't criticise me just pay your money, agree with anything I say and go home quietly. As for the fan in the dressing room heaven forbid that the great unwashed should get near the players, before you know it the players will have to deign to speak to their fans.
Watching football or any other sport is about opinions and
passion and if this includes booing after the match then so be it.

There are fans in South Africa who have given up their jobs just to watch England in the World Cup and all they get are 11 individuals on the pitch who seem to have no idea of team work. Is it any surprise they were booed.

Some of the England team should have gone to "Specsavers" then they would be able to see who they were passing the ball to because they for sure last night they couldn't figure out who was wearing the white shirts.

The whole performance was a disgrace, all those fans have worked very hard to save up all that money to see a so called England team, attempt to win a cup, and they have been let down, by a pathetic overpaid ponces, l have seen better football on a Sunday morning. And that Rooney comment, well this is very typical of the arrogant git, he should have been taken off and someone else put on, Heskey should never have gone, getting into the next round, no chance.

Normally I always try to be extremely positive about the teams I support, but last night I watched every minute of the game, turned off the TV and went to bed. There was nothing I could think to say about that match..

In all seriousness though, England will qualify from the group.... wont they? Does anyone genuinely believe SLovenia will take any points on Wednesday?

They took won against Algeria who England could only draw with...

England seriousy need to reshape that team because if they come out with the same tactics on Thurdays (I think we play again then) then it'll seriously dent faith in them from both their players and the fans before they even kick off

There haven't been many good games so far, but last night's England match was dire. They didn't seem to be a Plan A never mind a Plan B, the team were milling around seemingly making it up as they went. Where was the leadership, where was the belief. I felt sad for those supporters who had spent an awful lot of money to be there.

 Shambles  absolute shambles!!!

How can a bunch of players who were playing together for most of the qualifiers, getting decent results and playing some not bad football suddenly become so disjointed, pathetic and clueless?

The amount of times i laughed last night was ridiculous, if it was a comedy show it was a 10/10. My funniest was when Heskey was wide right, went to try and take on the full back only to stumble around a bit then nearly fall over  . Any Argentinian or Brazilian watching must have been cocking himself

As for Rooney being one of the worlds best players  "you`re avin a laugh...!"

p.s. Gerrard and Lampard should not be in the same team...
