VM are missing out on a lot of new subscribers as well as defections from Sky by failing to add a good selection of HD channels. Let's hope that VM's assurance that they will concentrate on their TV offerings this year starts to produce better results. |

It's a valid point. There aren't too many people like myself who can't have Sky (Tree). If i could i would probably have switched by now. It's also a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts... Not much HD because the uptake isn;t there and the uptake isn't there becuse there's not much HD etc etc |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I'm a tree person too :( I was on Sky HD until I moved and now the only "current" option is cable with one HD channel. But...
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitalt...ial-tests.html With London getting a HD Freeview service later this year (earlier than 2012 for the main planned for switchover) I will be ditching Virgin and just rely on Freeview HD until I move again. Free - i like that word.... H |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I was told this info over the weekend:
On an Ex-CW Box DTV_Test1 is now testing showing BBC HD channel with BBC HD EPG but in SD. |

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Hi Mobes, I see that you have a problem in regards to getting Sky, becuase of a tree.
I had this problem, but l spoke to Sky and an engineer came out, he had a look, and he said there was not a problem, if the dish is on the side of the property, they can move it, or even place it on the roof, providing the tree isn't a big elf like about 40 feet high, they can get round it. I have had Sky for about 10 years now, and the tree is still there.:) |

Jetix to be Rebrand as Disney XD by April 2010.
Beginning April 1, Jetix France will be rebranded as Disney XD, the country's first boy-focused offering for the 6-to-14 set. The move comes following the announcement that The Walt Disney Company is taking 100-percent ownership of Jetix Europe. Disney XD is Disney's newest brand in the U.S., having taken over the slot occupied by Toon Disney this week. Other Jetix branded services expected to follow suit within the year. http://worldscreen.com/articles/display/19766 Info from worldscreen.com |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I think the sooner that VM bring HD channels to the network, the better. At the moment Sky have so many, that are arranging there own EPG numbers, then we have ITV, and now Freeview.
VM will lose so much money over this, As many subs, won't wait any longer. |

Yeah it's a fecking great Oak tree lol! We've had a few people round and the best they could do was a massive tall mast with the dish on top which would look very very stupid! I'm not THAT desperate for HD.... ;) |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Hi Mobes, You could always move the satellite, but l don't think Astra would agree to that.

FINAL WARNING GUYS
Can members please keep the thread on topic.. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I visited the Sky site just to see what they had on offer, there was a lot of "packages" on offer, and a good price listing, but there was no mention of just what channels you get with those packages?
I don't want to go over the Sky to discover I have lost my favourite channels;) As I am really thinking of leaving VM, well their TV service that is. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Re the real topic, "Coming Soon to Virgin TV", I see that Eurosport 1 went anamorphic 16:9 at the end of last week. Bit rates seem better on all broadcasts, so Le Tour should look even better this year. Now just need E2 done, if it is available.
