They probably won't catch them. Little evidence so unless they catch someone in the act and can trace it back to my property then there is little chance of progress. Sharia law is OTT although it's times like this you can see the appeal. :p:

Actually I am looking how to install CCTV to cover the front/back doors and the street in front. I was thinking how much more help it would have been for the police if we had that.

So that just leaves gallstone removal and the one which all males dread - prostate biopsy. (sufficient to say I won't say what/how this is done, but it stings like hell)

Good luck next week RB with your MRI scan and l hope things work out with regards to your health.

My sister hasn't told our dad that she might might have to back to surgery until it happens as our dad will think the worst.

I just need this crap to end, I don't care I'm spending £25 a week on the tube, and food on top of that. I'm even helping my sister pay for her tube fares.

Even if it cost £50 a time I would still do it.

The blooming cycling on BBC

Why the hell are they saying distance in kilometres?

In the UK we use MILES, so why not say Miles???!!!!

MalteseFalcon 02-08-2015 16:27

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Is it the commentators saying it, or the on screen graphics? If the graphics, then it might be a feed that the BBC are forced to use.

After 34 phone calls over Thursday/Friday/today (and not including those to the District Nurses when I had a problem yesterday), I finally have an appointment to have the equipment removed and associated tests.

Considering I was given the option of staying in hospital for three days on the 25th June and having the catheter removed and the tests on the Tuesday in the hospital, or be being discharged and having the procedure/tests 10 days later, I tried to do the right thing, and gave up my bed.

I have now found out that my paperwork was lost between departments, and the referral went through today, and I can't be seen until the 19th August because the nurse who manages the clinic is on holiday until then.....

So, instead of 10 days, it will be 24 - to say I am not happy is probably an understatement...

I hope you get it sorted as soon as possible!

My (little) moan of the day, my fear of needles is starting to get in the way of my testing, they had to persuade me quite forcefully to allow them to put a cannular in today.

I really REALLY hate needles :(

I can understand that fear dilli.

Dilli have you considered Bach rescue remedy spray http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/sho...0038579?c=bach That's if your medication allows you to take this of course and if not maybe the Doctor could give you something. I have used this spray myself for anxiety that I experienced this year and I did feel it helped me.

Take care.

Good luck, and our thoughts are with you, dilli.

Further to my saga, I had had enough this morning, and rang my GP to have a discussion, and talk about options.

We agreed a way forward, and I had the District Nurse come out and remove the catheter this afternoon, and so far everything is working fine - what a relief (in so many different ways.... :D).

As the appointment was going to come through the post, I left it until Thursday to check up - I found out that no communication had happened between the Surgical Assessment Ward and Urology, but they promised they would contact them and arrange an appointment. I rang up today to follow up on this, and found out nothing had been done, and no appointments could be made because no one was available to do so in the Urology Ward (I even badgered the direct number out of them, which was not too easy).

Now I am being told that an appointment can't be made until Monday (which was when I should have been seen), and it will probably be in two weeks from Monday.

Joy....

Good luck with it

I use an email client (Thunderbird) so VM's changes don't really affect me in terms of how the mail looks though I will need to wrangle the webmail into submission to get the SPAM filters properly set as they are changed to the defaults after VM take over the service. I prefer the white list / black list criteria rather than the strange lableing system :erm:

Some people in hospitals are thick dilli. Luckily, as you say, someone managed to catch it before a disaster happened.

My moan is small, but it is Jobcentre day. Last time, they managed to botch my signing up so I had to call 4 times on payment day to chase up why the money wasn't in. Normally wouldn't bother me but I had DD's coming out on Thursday.

I'm so upset someone has scratched my stainless steel hob, I think one of my sons has tried to clean it by using a scourer :( and now my new hob is all scratched so gutted. I have asked the two boys if they done it and they both said no. So I guess it was the invisible man/woman once again. I've decided that I can either cry about it or have a glass of wine as I can't be bothered crying, I guess I will just have to go with the wine option.

Yes as many know dilli its a fine balancing act with the main medication as quite often patients end up taking more medication as the medication they get prescribed for their main condition gives them something else which then needs to be dealt with by taking more medication.

Yes l have heard how hard it can be to control high blood pressure with some patients Tinky and that in itself can trigger other unwanted problems.

Luckily my blood pressure has never been too high but its been quite low a few times which again can bring unwanted side effects sadly.

Oh Mark it's never nice when you hear from someone that you have being spoken about in such a negative manner. Personally I would try and rise above giving a response no matter how tempting it may be. The reason I would not give a response to who was bringing me down is I would not give them the satisfaction of them knowing that their comments bothered/upset me. Remember it's the person bringing you down with the problem not you!

These are terrible things to be said about you. Marc, no wonder you are fuming, but as Weenie said they will be more bothered with No Responce from you,

Hubby is off work as he hurt his shoulder & neck last week while getting out his lorry or at least he thinks that is what happened either way he is in a lot of pain. This is something I'm not used too at all, as he just gets on with things and never complains. The doctor has given him a line and some meds (Naproxen 500) hopefully they should kick in soon as it's not nice seeing someone you love in so much pain and discomfort :(

Thanks den, I think that is what I was finding the most upsetting the pain & discomfort that he was obviously in. Thankfully hubby is now having a nap on the sofa so I assume the meds the doctor has given him are now kicking in.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Yes Naproxen can be pretty strong and should certainly dull the pain.

I hope things improve very quickly.

My moan - it looks like I'll be in a cast again tomorrow after a whole 6 days out of one :(

The thing that worries me more about this is you can't have a transplant if you're in one.

Nuts to it, I'd rather have my foot off than keep putting up with this but Natalie says that's no good as I'll have a hell of a limp and she'll have to call me 'Stumpy' :)

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

At this time of year, at work, we spend a lot of our time getting software installs ready for distribution to our machines. I've been working on getting Autodesk's Mudbox software for OSX ready.

I wiped a machine, ran our (non functional) install on it, and Mudbox failed to start. I ran their normal installer (which we cannot use) on another machine, and compared the two installs. I noticed a config file that was different, so copied it from the working machine to the one that wasn't. When I restarted Mudbox on the faulty machine, it worked, so I copied the changed file up to the install server.

I wiped the machine again, and re-installed Mudbox from the server, and it doesn't work again, complete with the changed file.. Getting a little frustrated now, especially as it quits without displaying any errors, or, apparently logging anything.

Looks a bit angry up here too but it's not started raining yet. Suppose I better go and chuck the BBQ into the shed before it does.... and give the customary middle finger to the nosey old bat over the road who will undoubtedly be peering out of the window as soon as the back doors are opened.

Typical nash the weather gets better just as the wee goes back to school on Monday :( I feel for the children this summer as they have not had the best of weather here in Scotland, sadly the paddling pool has not been put up once this year.

Most of my office stuff is routed through a Belkin surgemaster that covers £50,000 of attached equipment. If there's a direct strike I think a roasted PC would be the least of my worries.

Well when we got back yesterday we had a phone call from Mum to tell us Dad and herself were involved in a shunt on Friday but thankfully they are both fine but were shaken up and Dad since then can't stop thinking about it and keeps playing it over in his mind so we are worried about him as he did not sleep and he hardly eat yesterday which is very unusual for him.

weenie 16-08-2015 03:41

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

It sounds to me den that your poor Dad might be suffering from shock.
Which alone is deeply distressing to someone as they relive the event, and by the sound of things that is what your Dad is doing by playing it over in his mind he could be thinking the what if's (example what if I left 5 minutes later) try and get him to talk and reassure him there was nothing he could have done as accidents happen.
Hugs weenie

My Dad lives 200 miles away but we said to Mum and other members of my family up there to talk to him try to reassure him that it was not his fault so she is going to phone us back in a couple of days.

I hope and pray den that your Dad will be back to his old self soon, try and not worry too much easier said than done I know but try :hugs:

Pump dispensers (e.g. liquid soap) where the feed tube doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the container.

Well we have just had a phone call and its the thermostat apparently and that has to be replaced along with new piping so it will be around £200 with labour included.
