Re: Cricket
That's what I mean, apart from someone who was worse than the captains between 1987 and Michael Vaughan who else is there to take the captaincy? I reckon had the pedalo incident not happened, Flintoff would have been made a captain of at least one of the sides.

Re: Cricket
Cook has a fantastic record as captain, he doesn't need to be replaced and won't be.
I see the Aussies are not just bad losers, but bad winners as well. Michael Clarke telling Jimmy Anderson "get ready for a f****** hand". The convicts need reminding who has won the last 3 series. |

If the captain of Australia makes arm breaking threats on the field, the question should not be whether he's fined but whether he's captain of Australia anymore. Disgusting behaviour.

Brad Haddin and Michael Clarke hit centuries in Australia's 570-9 declared.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/25148357 Well now they must stand up and be counted in these next two days because if they don't then the ashes are lost l am afraid. |
Re: Cricket
Australia bat again after Mitchell Johnson takes 7-40 to bowl England out for 172.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/25148365 And with this overnight performance you can kiss the ashes goodbye.:(:td: |
Re: Cricket
Yes, have to agree with you there. England seem to have no answer these days, we were lucky in the summer to keep the Ashes with a woeful Australian side. They seem to have worked hard since that loss and are determined to win again.
Someone in work yesterday was saying it is time for Cook to go as captain, but as I pointed out to them we have no-one good enough to replace him as captain. I certainly cannot see them giving it to KP. |

Wish we could have Michael Vaughan back as captain. The best one England have ever had imo. Shame that the captain has to be a player, Vaughan would be a perfect replacement as a non playing captain.

Re: Cricket
Mike Brearley was a superb captain too despite his poor batting averages.

Re: Cricket
I've only been following cricket since the days of Nasser Hussain as captain to be fair. So anyone pre Hussain would be totally unheard of to me, with the exception of Gooch onwards.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/25540136 Well there is only one way to describe this and that is shambolic and Cook should do the honourable thing and resign as captain forthwith. |
