Rone so you got 960kB/sec ? For that I believe you would need something like a 8800kbit synch.

Well Cable and Wireless just owned the Bulldog company, Bulldog was like that before Cable and Wireless took over the company in 2004 and was like that throughout Cable and Wireless' ownership and will always be like that!

Cable and Wireless now only provide the infrastructure for Bulldog and all the problems which customers experience is down to poor management which took hold of Bulldog in 2001, Cable and Wireless should have got shut of the poor management.

With regards to the loss of service, this was partly to do with BT as employees of BT Openreach made many errors whilst carrying out work for Bulldog and other companies such as TalkTalk and NTL.

Currently, Bulldog Communications is owned by Pipex and customers are still experiencing the same problems, the company owes many customers hundreds of pounds.

In my previous post, I mentioned ADSL services from Cable and Wireless. Cable and Wireless have its own telecoms infrastructure just like BT and NTL and used to be called Mercury, they recently aquired Energis making it even bigger. The network is completely independent of BT and it provides many corporations and some SME's ADSL internet services. Since the network is quite advanced and not as old as BT's I thought that maybe its more reliable and efficient. Maybe Cable and Wireless could expand its network to residential areas and offer telephone and ADSL TV and Internet services. Or they could just simply take over NTL-Telewest and Wight Cable as well as Virgin Mobile.

Previously Cable and Wireless owned some franchises which NTL now owns, back then the market was quite small and a loss, but now it seems more profitable and they would even gain some more business customers along in the process.

960kbps wasnt mentioned since you are writing 960kbit/sec.

Well thats me lost.

My point was the reliability\speed of connection was good , when it was connected. ;)
They advertise upto 8 meg and it pretty well was, nearer 8 than say 7.
And thats the only good thing there was , that and the price was'nt extortionate, £30pm for 8 meg and phone line rental.

Rone said 8mbit 960kB is 8mbit.

I suspect Rone actually got nearer 840kB.

Rone I know what you meant, you meant you was seeing max speeds, I was probably confusing everyone when I was pointing out 8meg on adsl isnt actually 8mbit and every single adsl1 provider is guilty of this.
