this is really the thin end of the wedge of animal cruelty. in China they like to skin dogs for their fur - while the animal is alive. so I fully support any (non violent) campaigning against unnecessary animal abuse.

The lucky ones bleed to death before being skinned, but often dogs are alive and fully conscious dying slow excruciating indescribable deaths. As each dog is killed other dogs can hear the screams and cries. All that matters to the butchers is that this method of slaughter causes least damage to the dogs fur - preserving its market value.

German Shepherd dogs are the most commonly killed dogs in China, as their fur resembles the fur of wild animals such as coyote or raccoon - the same courageous and noble breed that guides the blind and does search and rescue, these intelligent and loyal dogs are being bred in huge numbers in the north of China.

mmmmm - think you might be comparing apples with sealions, there, etccarmageddon :)

That is like saying "you can't give you kids a tap on the legs for admonishment, in case a couple of weeks later you cut their heads off" - IMHO:D

Not sure what you mean. After all, where do you think the fur worn by western celebs come from? Relatively expensive fur farms, or a cheap Chinese market?

I'll give you a clue. The need to cut costs applies, even in the fur industry.

Any cruelty to any animal makes me feel sick to the stomach. But unnneccasary cruelty like this more so.

But what I do not Beleive in is PETA's political ambitions and what it stands for, PETA purly work on propaganda, often on the edge of fact to further its own cause and force its views on free people.

Ok these dogs are killed in a bad way but they are bred according to the information so on that basis and some opinions posted in this thread the actually killing of the dogs is fine. I do agree the method is wrong
