Re: Security software

Symantec's corporate products are very good, but as has already been said, steer clear of Norton. Just my :2cents: ... take it or leave it.

The point might be to inform you that there is a virus that cannot be cleaned?

Norton Internet Security has a few inbuilt functions that try to identify viruses that are not yet in the database.

So if the program finds such a Virus it's a good thing to warn and quarantine the offender even if nothing can be done about it yet. In some cases, the next update should bring along a solution.

Personally, I like that the Virus will be found that way.

Re: Security software

sorry for going all silent on you guys, the help was definitely appreciated!

I did get a ready made PC, but not a branded one in the end and I did get it with Norton, too. I was sceptical at first because of what has been said, but I got a good deal so it was worth seeing who was right. Well, all I can say is that it works for me. :)

And that's why I have yet another question: Symantec is now offering Norton Internet Security 2007. Do you reckon I should upgrade?
