Re: New Mouse Advice

I wouldn't bother.I've spent so much on mice in the last two years that I've come to the conclusion buy cheap and then it's not such a bind to go buy another. £30 is a lot of money particularly if you have to replace it again within a short space of time.:)

Well I am calling it a day in regard to getting a replacement looks like it was my fault with the cable being kinked in a few places.

Going to buy a Microsoft cheap opitcal one or the Logitech one Zing is on about and carry on trying to fix the G5 in my spare time...

Thanks iffy :D, on another note Logitech replied to my email and wish for me to try some driver systems they have linked me too, and should it fail they want all the information which is under the mouse to continue into sorting this out.

Re: New Mouse Advice

Right I've tried the stuff Logitech Tech Support asked in the E-mail, as in testing it on various systems, with and without drivers, checking cable etc to no avail.

I have now sent them the reply e-mail with information they wanted to ID the mouse and date of purchase, so crossed fingers for a replacement eh?

The Logitech mx1000 is the best for that price, I actually own one, its very responsive, fast, everything.

If you want I can make a little video of it for you, so you can actually see what its like.

I got mine from PCworld, I reserved it online for store pickup which saved me like 15 pounds when I got it.

Re: New Mouse Advice

The g5 can handle twice the laser resoution of the mx1000 I did consider the MX1000 but the G5 is a pure gaming mouse from Logitech.

I can set on the mouse from 400dpi to 800dpi to a max of 2000dpi.

This coupled with advanced software and little pack of weights in a aluminum case where you can control the weight of the mouse, and how it adapts to games, makes it the only mouse for me.

And with CS like Logitechs around it made a good choice.

Re: New Mouse Advice

Well as I have said in my reply mail, I will not be buying any other products for my computers other than Logitechs the g5 is one of their top products so I do expect the to be quick in replacing a faulty one.

But their service was swift and polite.

I am off in morning to sort out my new keyboard...guess which maker

The letters are all wearing off the keys of my logitech keyboard (OEM cordless), though my Medion has a 3 year warranty, I doubt they'd cover it... worth a try though, as it started with a few, and now it's getting silly - the shortest time a keyboard has lasted (still on the original set of batteries!), and the first black keyboard I've had.

Will be cosmetic so I doubt it will be, but worth a try as you say.

A few of my letters are shinier than others notably part of the space bar!

I always wear out my space bar, I need a titanium keyboard!

just trying a 'tevion' wireless mouse, the laser one on sale in Aldi, just now, and it is brilliant, such a light touch - no pun intended ;)
