After a bit more poking around I've come to the conclusion that Easymobile have the cheapest tariff out there. Bummer, thought I'd be able to make a saving somewhere.

Are they cheaper?

Read post number 1 for a clue.... TMobile is mentioned ;)

I overlooked it then. Sorry ;)

Looks like the same sort of tariff as Easymobile - still, it shows it can be done.

Edit - Although Tesco charge 20ppm for x netwrok calls, so again that's another one out of the window.

where did you see that, shaun, my little book says 15p for all mobiles and landlines, day or night, but uk only? :)

You are quite right, looks like the info I came across was for a different Tesco tariff.

Tesco's site : http://www.tescomobile.com/valuesim.aspx

Fresh comparison (bottom of the page) - (says 20p): http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/com....MAINPAGE.PAYG

Virgin calls to other mobiles are 35p per minute, and still expensive on their bundles.

Tesco mobile offer bundles £2.50 per month for 25 mins of calls to any UK landline or mobile and then 10p per minute for rest of month, you can also have a bundle for text messages at 5p per message to any UK mobile. Rates for Tesco value SIM are different.

You could try doing a comparison here Shaun.

This is one of the reasons I have held off from having a mobile, till now, I found all the different tariffs & deals really hard to compare.

That is why this Tesco 'value sim' is fine, for me, I only pay for what I use & know exactly how much it is costing.

- just as an aside, strictly speaking not 100% on topic, but related to mobiles and expense, I was amazed at the different charges I came across when looking to unlock my phone to use the Tesco sim. Talk about buyer beware, some places wanted £25, I sent off for a code for â‚ ¬9.99, yesterday, which still hasn't arrived although Paypal confirmed the payment. Eventually I found a code generator site & did it for nothing - which was lucky as both locks were set & the code I was waiting for will only release the first. :dozey:

T Mobile's reception coverage is utter pants. I'm on it and won't be staying with them at the end of my contract, probably go back to Vodafone.
