Right so that means that i will go unlimeted this month. If changes have been made already than why does it still say theres a mothly limit on ntl's website?

Re: We all want to know!

I'd just go by what the email says..(from january 06) and download what you want without worrying about any cap.

Could it be that the workers at NTL are off today and therefor there are no web designers in work at NTL. They have familys they spend NEW YEAR with just like you :)

Bear in mind that if NTL say January (or any month), they don't necessarily mean the first day.

Then I would imagine that they need to state that, as otherwise they are open to misinterpetation.

Not really. If you state you are going to give something in January, whether you give it on the 1st, or 31st, you are still giving what you promised.

In my experience, if told they are going to get something in a certain month (rather than BY a certain month), then most people will assume that it can be any day in that month.

I'm very interested to find out the date when 1Mbps and 2Mbps services become unlimited (subject to the FUP ;)). Trust NTL to be communicative. ;)

I never ever got that notice at all.Not with any bill either 'cos I carefully checked.Seems they can bill me and can find me to send me promotional literature for stuff I'm not interested in or have already but they never ever seem to inform me of stuff I really want to know about.I've had so much about Talk Unlimited which I'm not interested in because I already have telephone bills under a tenner per month.

Re: We all want to know!

AFAIK the only certain information on the upgrades is that all ntl cable 1Mb and 2Mb accounts will be upgraded to 10Mb by the end of 2006, and all 3Mb customers should be on 10Mb now (don't know if they actually are). All 10Mb accounts will be capped.

So the only way to upgrade to 10Mb ATM (unless you're lucky - don't know if anyone on the 1 & 2 mb tiers has been upgraded yet?) is to subscribe to the £37.99 tier.

If you go to the speed upgrade page, you can check what speed you can be upgraded to: if the result is 10Mb, then you can get 10Mb, if the result is bund03, you're still limited to the 3Mb service. As I said, though, ntl were reckoning that everyone on the 3Mb tier should be upgraded by the end of 2005.

Users that don't have a compatible STB or SACM have been told to pay £50 if they want to be able to use 10Mb at its full potential.

Ntl say the Samsung STBs can only manage around 5Mb.
