Re: Firefox and T'bird 1.5 beta2s out

I have Windows XP :)

Re: Firefox and T'bird 1.5 beta2s out

Ah, OK. Backspace doesn't currently work on the Mac version.

Re: Firefox and T'bird 1.5 beta2s out

I'm now using Camino (previously known as Chimaera), which is the browser that inspored Firefox. Seems pretty good so far.

Quote:

The Camino project has worked to create a browser that is as functional and elegant as the computers it runs on. The Camino web browser is powerful, secure, and ready to meet the needs of all types of users while remaining simple and elegant in its design.

Camino combines the awesome visual and behavioral experience that has been central to the Macintosh philosophy with powerful web-browsing capabilities such as the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine. Built and tested by thousands of volunteers, the Gecko rendering engine brings cutting-edge innovations and capabilities to users in a standards-friendly and socially responsible form.

Sure, you can use a typical web browser, with typical features. Or you can use a browser that "also" supports the Mac. Or you can use a browser you have to pay for. What if one browser offered everything, for free?

That browser is Camino. Camino makes your web experience more productive, more efficient, more secure, and more fun. It looks and feels like a Mac OS X application should because it was designed exclusively for Mac OS X

Reinstalled the beta 2s, switched to the standard themes and it's fine!

At last! The theme i was having problems with was Phoenity. A new version's out for T'bird - seems ok with 1.5b2. Couldn't find an updated FF theme, though, 'till I noticed someone called yamal had posted an unofficial update at http://www.xs4all.nl/~beukrode/yamal...unofficial.jar . So I wound up with a .jar file I couldn't install. But then I discovered an extension called Install New Theme that lets you install a theme from the .jar file rather than a link. Phew!

Both installed and running now; no problems ATM
