NTL really are rubbish, they really are taking the mick they have only figured out there are diffculties on the day of realise if i was in charge there would be people sacked to day its incompentence of a level i wouldnt stand for.

just to explane i work in theatre so have to deliver shows to deadlines and do this every day missing a deadline just isnt comprehensable and to then say technical difficulties as a reason means sombody hasnt done there job and therefore is neglgent.

this has really spoiled my weekend.

cant wait till i move house so i can get sky

Yes, very poor customer service, yet again, it does beg the question 'Can they actually get any aspect of their customer service right ?'

I presume that none of the channels are launching today :(

Still no VOD in this area either, they really are very poor lately.

its not there customer service thats wrong. i have always had a good service from phone help down to the engineers who come to the houses, seems to me there is a big problem at middle management level, or from a skills level futher down.

what has happened today is just embarassing and shows them up to be inept at their jobs as you say we have had equipment running faulty software for years now and the company is so scared of the update (one can only geuss that means it is still full of bugs) that it cannot roll it out system wide and we have the current senario that differnt parts of the network is running differnt systems while other system we were led to belive "inferior" have managed in the same piriod to turn it into a modern adaptable system. while i know people at ground level are just doing what they can with they have whoever is calling the shots is an idiot

I know it's disappointing not to get the channels, but you'd all moan even more if ntl rolled them out today and they all started to freeze or have some other problem. We just all have to be a bit more patient with ntl and wait for a week or so when they've sorted the so called 'Technical Issues'.

not a good enough reason shouldn't have got this far and not been able to get the channels on we have picture freezes every day and STB crashes not to mention the inability of the software to run interactive services or even keep the channels in the order you want them or to randomly change channels this is just another example of a poor system and a lack of respect for its customers why not mention it before rather than wait for the day and to add insult we have to serch for the information ourselfs no word or press relise from NTL to apologise company is a shambles

So let me get it right... NO channels are going to launch today? Not just the horror channel and Motors TV like we originally thought?

As we still have no new channels as yet :(

Hiya

Sorry I didn't post anything earlier. Unfortunately all of the 11 channels planned for launch today have been postponed. We hope to launch them next week, but we have some other issues that we have to deal with before we can launch these new services.

I understand that it's disappointing, but we won't launch any new channels if there is a risk that they will affect the service overall.

Sam

Me too, funny isn't it, watching scary movies takes your mind off things, ah well, here's to next week, see if they are on by then, meanwhile, the only horror film I own is the video of my wedding (I can say that safely now I'm divorced:)

That's something to be glad about though.
As the saying goes: "Good things come to those that wait" I suppose.

I'm not actually a fan of scary movies if I'm totally honest, but my partner and her eldest do.

New channel launches - ntl have issued us a statement regarding these:-

"We had hoped to begin transmission of the new 11 channels earlier this month. Naturally, we only launch channels when full end to end testing has been completed to our satisfaction. This process continues.
We'll launch the new channels as quickly as possible and will keep you informed."

Coming soon..

Deja Vu.

Re: Oh dear!

What I do not understand is why they didn't fully test it all before they announced it?

Any way I am not going to complain because at least it is going to be free when we get it
