Yeah it uses AI quite well. I am surprised how good it is and how as an information device it is now useable which the older was very poor with and that is why I kept a google nest hub max for voice searches. It is now sold

We have a Ring Doorbell, but I will be getting rid of that at some point because Amazon refuses to allow you to access the footage from it without using their website.

I will keep it though if the bounty is claimed from Louis Rossmann and someone finds a way to access it without needing the "Scrypted" app on your pc.

There should be links to it somewhere in Amazon if you have prime to sign up to it. My Dad got it today without even asking on his Show 8" 2nd Gen any new devices you buy now too automatically gets you in the trial as long as you have Prime

I am worried though about the price of Prime when it comes out as they say you get Alexa + free with Prime or can just get Alexa + for £19.99 a month. Now who is gonna do that if Prime stays £8.99 unless this is a ploy to get more Prime subscribers

Have a look at Reolink products. They can upload via FTP for free, both Doorbells and Camera footage, no need for subscriptions.

I've just had my Echo ask if I want to upgrade to Alexa +. I declined the option for now. I guess the push is on to move users over?

Access is currently by invitation - but it would seem it wise to expect a big price rise soon for regular Prime.

They are the ones I have been looking at, as well as Unifi stuff as I am trying to decide whether to go Opnsense via my Proxmox server or Unifi when I have the money.

The Reolink stuff will work with Unifi but it just depends at the time.

My Reolink (PoE units) feeds all go to a QNAP NAS and then RSYNC to the cloud. It's pretty much done in real time, so you get both local and off site recording storage.

Over time I have noticed a few language issues. Where Alexa may have updated or changed something and it has messed up my Routines

Alexa Warm Me up used to turn on Smart Plug M1 which is my electric fire and was actioning the routine fine but now she is miss hearing so I have had to simplify the routine to just fire on and fire off still using a routing though as M1 2 and 3 are a certain brand what monitor energy and T are my tapo and so on just easier to mark the plugs so you know which is which in the app .

Just thought I would pull this back to Alexa from Smart Security cameras hehe

I have Alexa+ on one of our Echo dots but the big Echo says it's not compatible.

So far I like the new voice better and it is better at conversation rather than just telling you things or accepting commands. Definitely an improvement.

Even my sleep sounds ( I use it to drown out my tinnitus ) has improved they call it ambient sounds now and the range are good and play video on my Show 8 too

I like how the AI deciphers my voice commands even when I make a mess and stutter haha
