”One random nutter” is how it starts. Btw, see Corbyn and his lot for details where they do it more craftily.

But I note the tone of your response. Let me put a question to you:

If it was your shop, and it's not antisemitism to ban JEWS who support Israeli action in Gaza, what would your notice read if you didn't want them in your shop?

I’m not sure which tone you think you’re getting, regardless

‘ Reisch explained that he had decided to stop serving customers who, in his opinion, support the war in Israel.‘

There’s two completely things here , one is a sign banning all Jews as you say.

The next is inference that any customers who support the war are banned and that Jewish people who do not support the war ‘can have a coffee’

And as Hugh asks, how can you determine someone is Jewish ?

It's been there for a long time.

Theresa May's 'Citizens of nowhere' was seen by some as codified antisemitism.

Not even a plot really, just seems like a badly written draft for a book, where the main character is killed off in chapter 3, only to reappear in chapter 6 poorly disguised as a Nun with a beard and a penchant for pineapple on his (her) pizza. :spin:

Is this still available? ;)

Er - the sign plainly reads: “JEWS ARE BANNED FROM HERE”.

You’re pretty much ‘allowing’ the shopkeeper’s notice to Jews. That’s the tone I’m seeing. You should be criticising him outright and the fact that you don’t speaks volumes.

I’m not allowing anything. So please don’t insinuate when you haven’t a clue what youre on about. last time I checked I didn’t march to the beat of your drum nor do I have any obligation too.

TL:DR pipe down.

The point I’m trying to make which appears to have gone completely over your head is thus.

The sign as you quite rightly says no Jews allowed , however later in the article it says that anyone supporting the war is barred but Jewish people who don’t support the war are welcome for a coffee.

The article appears to be incongruent

Agree with that.

An initial 'catch all' statement later amended to have a caveat.

I'm not sure one crackpot in Germany, who cant even make up his mind, exactly means "Antisemitism: So it openly starts".

Exactly but if you look hard enough and scourer enough sources you can make an outrageous statement about anything, some people have got wayyy to much time on their hands to feed obsessions

Re: Antisemitism: So it openly starts

You have to see this for what the headline reads. "JEWS ARE BANNED". Attempts to explain away and thus excuse what this German openly wrote provide a sour tone.

Yawn, one extremist **** doesn't mean the start of anything, he'll be out of business soon and no one will remember how unpleasant he was

Should the sign say the latter then…….and not the former?

To remove any incongruity?

It’s the fact he feels emboldened enough to do it, and before you know it you have a lot of emboldened extremist pricks, because they can see the conditions are favourable for them
