Glasto has always been a leftie luvvies' middle-class bore fest, with an ambling crowd of ageing hippies trying to return to their youth.

And they can't even persuade them to use the litter bins, or stop stealing the toilet paper.

If nobody had made such a fuss , it would have been long forgotten. The loveys must have their day. Question does anybody think the idf is not committing war crimes.

Re: Glastonbury Performance Investigations

Relevant question is whether it’s reasonable to call for the death of a country’s entire armed forces. Anything else is whataboutery at this point. There is an ongoing Gaza conflict thread - ask that question there.

Armed forces are there to be killed . Think the British wished all the German forces in the 1st and 2nd world wars were killed , same with Ukrainian people today with regards to Russian and north Korean troops. Or do you think they wished them well:confused: the trouble today is everyone is so snowflakeish.

You’re so far off your rocker I suspect you may not have had one.

The Christmas truce in 1914 and resulting games of football in No Man's Land thankfully prove otherwise. Wishing for surrender or retreat of an opposing army is not the same as wishing soldiers, often conscripts, death.

Re: Glastonbury Performance Investigations

Indeed. Destruction by death of an entire opposing army is not a strategic aim in itself. It would also be illegal by the Geneva convention. You can’t wish death on a surrendering soldier, even when you know that when the war is over he may re-join the army he’s a member of.

In the case of Israel there’s also the rather delicate matter of its massive reserve force consisting of those who have recently finished national service. There are up to half a million Israelis who can be called to active duty at any time, over and above the 150k or thereabouts in the standing army.

Are the brain-dead metropolitan lefties of Glasto and their sleb cheerleaders wanting them dead too? Because that’s starting to sound a bit genocidey, and they said they didn’t like that sort of thing.

Lumping together all the attendees at Glastonbury with a few thousand morons chanting hateful stuff is like lumping all Israelis with the actions of some of the IDF in Gaza - in both cases, I believe the juxtaposition is invalid…

Where did I do that? I’d say ‘brain-dead metropolitan lefties’ is a reasonable descriptor for the sub-set of Glasto attendees we’re talking about. Unless you think everybody who goes to Glastonbury is a brain-dead metropolitan lefty?

Hugh 02-07-2025 12:57

Re: Glastonbury Performance Investigations

You know me well enough not to ask that sort of question, and I inferred (incorrectly, as you’ve pointed out) your implication was all-encompassing, not a sub-set.
