It's a winner for them. Dare to use it and it'll cost a fortune if you don't have a phone package. Got a big sticker on my landline ' Only make calls at weekends ( and don't make it more than an hour if its you're waffling to your Mother again ')' ;)

I've taken the cost reduction option and just unplugged it from the router. Anyone who needs to contact us has the mobile numbers.

My contract ends 2nd September, and after that it was going up to £85.84 - after a friendly chat, it will be £70 (Volt 250Mb BB, Maxit -> Mega TV, Weekend Chatter); I’m waiting to hear back what the price would be without the Phone Line…

Just got our new contract through, at the price/services agreed.

Checked about losing the phone, and I quote

The way that our packages are bundled together, it would actually be less expensive to keep your landline as we can add more associated discounts with all three services are on accounts.
So, kept it, but will probably do as mentioned in a previous post, and unplug it.

Obviously avoid using the landline but it useful contingency/emergency back up to have, particularly if its independent of the router (which mine still is atm).

Kept the line to keep the cheaper cost but it's just not connected to the router. Saves all those annoying telesales calls.

Indeed, the only people who ever ring mine are VM offshore sales. :erm:
