Max Boyce could do a better job. All Senedd debates would begin with "Ugi Ugi Ugi!" and anyone not giving the correct response should be booted out.

Spent a lot of the last weekend, very slowly going through Wales and its 20mph zones. Tbf in a lot of cases it seemed appropriate, where front doors open directly onto A roads. I wasnt in a rush and it's a lovely place (apart from Newport, they can keep that).

But only 469,571 people registered an objection before the petition was closed in March.

People supporting the petition were dismayed to find that many more who would have signed it either didn't know about it or had internet access to do so.

But by then the petition had closed.

Road casualties and deaths have reduced since the 20 mph limits, so it is saving lives. Rather be a few minutes later and alive.

Why is it crazy? Your car weighs about 20 times as much, so can do far more damage at the same speed.

Plus if it gets you out of your car, everyone wins.

Officials stressed that one quarter’s data can be influenced by factors such as changes in weather, and it is too early to draw conclusions on the 20mph default limit.
Also, its based on "collisions reported to police" its possible less are reported at lower speeds. Also, no mention at all of the possible effects of increased exhaust pollution.
