No apologies from Sir Keir. He’s whistling to the English dog thinking that’ll get him over the line.

Starmer was sitting on the committee that approved the sentencing guidelines he is now objecting about.

Whatever, you didn't know what you were voting for anyway, people like you were a godsend and frankly we've heard enough of your nonsense on this subject, couldn't be arsed to acquainte yourself with the facts but that didn't stop you having a strong opinion on it nevertheless

Oops!

Starmer seems to have gotten away unscathed with the Tweet. Perhaps the drama at the SNP has drawn some of the media's attention away from it. More luck than judgment but that's politics.

Indeed. I don't think that the Conservatives want to fight on crime or the economy which they may have once favoured.

This Government is essentially a post truth administration, gaslighting the nation everyday. Labour has a choice: fight in the gutter with the Tories or try and stay aloof and say "Stop lying or we'll say stop lying again".

I guess they are seeing how fighting the Tories with their own tactics gets on.

I have been conflicted about the adverts since they started coming out. In one side, is this the kind of politics we want? The other side is that I don’t believe for a second that the Conservatives will come flying out with these kinds of adverts when the time comes. Previous electoral adverts show that very clearly.

Note that no conservative politician has come out against these adverts. That kind of tells you what kind of campaigning we can look forward to.

The final thought is that Rishi Sunak currently polls higher than the Conservative Party as a whole so targeting him is an obvious strategy at this point

With no policies of their own Capt. Hindsight has to resort to smear tactics.

Forgetting that his own tenure in the CPS was hardly covered in glory.

You wouldn't be applying smear tactics would you?

How do you apply a smear? Do you smear it?
