It was the other day, and ended in failure.

Funny post by Grant Schapps prior to the failed launch.

Spot the difference: Boris Johnson appears scrubbed from photo posted by Shapps

Quote:

Grant Shapps, the business secretary, posted a photo on Twitter that appears to have removed the former prime minister from the picture. Shapps tweeted the image in advance of the rocket launch from Spaceport Cornwall, speaking of his delight at backing the first launch of a satellite from European soil.

The photo shows Shapps enjoying a solitary visit to the spaceport, laughing with the Virgin Orbit chief executive, Dan Hart, and Ian Annett from the UK Space Agency.

Social media users were quick to point out that Johnson appeared to have been erased from the image – an identical picture is still on the No 10 Flickr account, dated 9 June 2021, with the former PM standing between Shapps and Hart.

Shapps subsequently deleted his tweet after the apparent editing was spotted but many users had screengrabbed both images.
Maybe he did not want to seen in public out with his Johnson? :D

Virgin Orbit’s rocket failed to achieve orbit because a fuel filter became dislodged during flight.

That’s a manufacturing problem resulting either from weak design or careless construction. A thorough investigation will now have to follow at the Mojave factory where they assemble these things.

Virgin Orbit has now filed for Bankruptcy.... Poor old Richard, didn't know he was that hard up...

Are they now winding the company up? Seems a harsh decision, but not surprised given how we give up so easy in this country.

No, they’re headquartered in the US which means they’re able to use the ‘Chapter 11’ bankruptcy procedure. The aim of it is to admit you’re bankrupt while preventing your creditors demanding their money back. It gives you breathing space to restructure your business and attract new investment.

Well I hope its not a start back up with debt written off type of thing. That would be shameful from Branson.
